Nevermind that - my uncle had to travel that between offices in different parts of a local town!

The ultimate in I don't know what to do next is to send you to someone else who may not know what to do, and so on and so forth...but each time, the person is relieved that they don't have to deal with you any more (or they may even think they have done a good deed, passing you on to someone they think might help you!)

Ah, the having to report to two different offices deal.
Of course, the offices are usually at a minimum of thirty minutes apart, and the time they want you to be there is less than ten minutes.

Unfortunately, too many people think all agencies are like local road departments...bloated, fat and sassy. I've worked in some offices where you couldn't get office supplies without almost a court order....and have laid off all the secretaries, so that top level administrators have to do their work and work that should be done by a clerk typist, too...so they don't get as much of their administrator work done.

Seen that too.
The budget saving measures are so draconian that one almost expects to see hooded henchmen with axes whenever one sends in a request for the purchase of copier paper.

Morning Sir! When do you leave again? Evening, fanfan! Friday the 17th, for a week.
How are you?

Actually, in my experience, they don't usually...they just wallow around in what do I do now? And try to find someone who knows what to do...and then give you the wrong information. The IRS is known for this tactic in particular....
Or send you on an infinite loop between different offices!! *in low voice* Excellent...

The plan is coming together quite nicely.

Baseball season again, I hear.
My favorite baseball team is the Jets.
To: NicknamedBob
There's a game somewhere? There was. This team got a stadium built at taxpayer expense -- even though the taxpayers voted it down in an election.
(I think: it's hard to keep all our special sports-fields and teams and denied election support straight... let's just say that when it comes to corrupt government and sports teams, Seattle takes a back seat to nobody! Where Seattle excels over Eastern cities is in stifling any media reports of corruption.)
