The only real item of intestest in the AFC is whether CIN or NE will wind up with the #3 seed.

The only seeds locked up in the NFC are the top two by SEA and CHI.

Cincinnati has clinched division title.

****

Found this earlier in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

****

Will the Bengals tank it in Kansas City today to try to avoid playing the Steelers next week? A Cincinnati loss coupled with a New England victory would pit the Jacksonville Jaguars against the Bengals and the Steelers at the New England Patriots.

There's a strong feeling in Cincinnati that the Bengals would be better off playing against the Jaguars than the Steelers. That prompted veteran offensive tackle Willie Anderson to address the possible matchup.

"Don't panic. Cincinnati, do not panic," he said. "If we're playing Pittsburgh, don't get scared on us now. It's a home game. Let's all be excited.

"Our city should be excited about getting a home playoff game. If it's Pittsburgh, it's Pittsburgh. We'll take them on."

****

Is fear setting in already in the Queen City?

Or are the Pittsburgh sports writers delusional?

Signed,
Not a Bengals fan.

I don't think they fear the Steelers but they would prefer Jacksonville.

I don't think that the reporter is lying or "delusional" as you suggest. Personally, being a lifelong Stiller fan, I think Cincinnati is damn good this year. But, I'm pretty sure their fans don't want to see us coming to town.

The Steelers are HOT and getting more healthy every day.

A guy just saw a car going by Heinz Field with a Detroit flag waving from the window.

Matt Millen?

Looking for Pittsburgh to win big today. Maybe another shutout like last week.

Almost forgot. Pittsburgh seems to have a lot of fans at their away games. At times it seems like a Steeler away game is almost like a home game.

The biggest story in Houston is who will win the Bush Bowl in San Francisco this afternoon.

I have never seen the home town pull so hard against their team. If the Texans win, their fans will never forgive them.

I'm seeing Stillers 34 to 9. It could be worse, but they will most likely be replacing people sometime in the third quarter if things go as I am thinking.

Yeah, blow the Lions out early then rest the first team for the playoffs. Sounds good.

Randal El ran the first punt of the game back for a TD for the Stillers.

Tunch Ilkin, our color man on the radio, said if it were touch football it would still have been a touchdown!

LOL!

7-0.

I agree.

Of course they toyed with Detroit for a while, lol.

I just got back from the Browns game that was a lot of fun, and with free tickets, very nice seats. The brother in law gave them to me because he didn't want to make the trip in.

What's up with the Patsies today? Did they rest people?

That may have looked like toying, but I suggest that all those players on an NFL field are all STARS from their college days. Detroit was playing well, and we looked slightly flat, especially on defense.

Anyhow, we woke up and played better in the second half.

Sometimes these things happen when you are being told all week that you're going to kill a team, such as Detroit. It's human nature. Sometimes it can really bite you.

Off to Cincinnati next weekend!

My brother in law, a Browns season tickt holder in Cincy, will be rooting for the Steelers next week. He loathes Bengal fans. I haven't decided whom to root for. I suspect Pittsburgh.

I can't root for Pittsburgh, ugggh. But I'm not rooting for Cincy either. I guess I'm neutral, but I'll watch the game anyway.

I'll root for whichever team I bet on.

I'll work up the numbers next Tuesday or Wednesday.
