I am so unhappy. I was supposed to have a root canal this morning at 7:00, but the dentist is stuck in the snow in Buckley. I don't care about snow, I've already waited ten days and now they're saying it'll be next Wednesday.
I'm in pain, people!

In happier news, my neighborhood is a winter wonderland of snow! We got probably 3-4 inches last night.

I just did a google for "last post". Of course it could have been "first post". It probly depends on which side of the fence you are on at the time plus its hard to tell when you are as tierd as I am ! I will let everyone know why after I get home tonight. (if I make it that far....)

Hello, everybody!
I'm just checking in to the Dec. thread to let you know that I'm alive and kicking.
The trip to the Kennedy Space Center was fantastic. We took some great pics that I'll learn to post when we return home (late, late Saturday). NnB, if you haven't been there, you need to go to look at some of the fabulous storage ideas.
The rest of our vacation has been spent in outdoor (primarily) pursuits: nature walks, croquet tournaments, firearms training, football, and, in Secundus' case, working at the race track, horse riding lessons, and learning how to fish!
Mcxlplx has been outfitted with a carrying cage (with an improvised litter box), toys, and bed. He LOVES his bed. I'd forgotten how quickly kittens grow and develop. He's put on at least a pound since we've been here and has grown noticeably larger. Last night, Mcxlplx impressed the hubby and me with a tremendous leap of @ four feet from a bench to the floor. His pouncing abilities are developing nicely as are his stalking skills. Mice and trolls beware the mighty Mcxlplx!
I've spent the morning cleaning and packing. I must have been out of it when I packed to go on vacation. Usually we have no extra space to put anything that we acquire while on vacation. We end up shipping the purchases via UPS. This time around, even though we (read that "we" as "the grandparents") purchased lots of new clothes and books, we have extra space (and that includes Mcxlplx and his stuff). Amazing.
Anyway, the car is already mostly packed; the hubby is taking the children off to see one of the satellite properties wherein reside the dairy and beef herds, the chickens, the goats, the donkeys, the horses, and the overseer; and I'm waiting for the last of the linens to finish up in the dryer before I remake the beds.
And, of course, I'm chatting with all y'all.

Oh, man! That just stinks! Demand a prescription for heavy duty drugs. If the dentist is stuck in the snow, then it's perfectly reasonable for you to get "snowed", too!

It's been a good vacation. The kids have been out doin' what kids ought to be doin' and the grown-ups have been kickin' back and havin' a fine ol' time!
I've already decided that Sunday and Monday will be "ease back into the routine" days. No point in killing myself trying to get everything done at once. Thank goodness I left freezer meals in the freezer. (No meal planning necessary this week!)
The hubby took pics of the children during one of the weapons training episodes. I believe that he gave a copy to Prout, who intends to post some of the pics here on the thread.
I'm glad that I've been missed.
Any prurience, of which I should be informed? *waggling eyebrows*
