I'm restricted from working, but I might chance it in another week - if something happens to me help will come quick, whereas with drinking something could happen in my sleep, help will come to late, so I'll stay off the drink for another while.
BTW, I'm not sure if Irish beer could be called 'ale' - there is an English beer that's called that, I dunno I might be mixing it up with the type of beer called 'bitter'.

As I understand the two: Beer is served cold, and sle is served warm. Also, bitter is something else in Germany. It comes in a very small bottle.
