God, you can put that Hamm's back in the horse where it came from. Horrible stuff, but like Geico Car Insurance, they sure had the dough to adverties relentlessly and pound those lyrics into your skull.
I think it's great that our country is so diverse but it makes me sick that people can come here and not even speak English. There's no reason for them to learn English anymore because everything is available in their native language.
Dangit, we speak ENGLISH here!
yes :)
It sounded like Crede smacked the umpire on the backswing.
I'd wager that every time you leave your home and go to any public space, you will hear at least one conversation in Spanish, and I bet most of those conversing in Spanish are doing so because it is no longer necessary for them to learn English here.
LOL, that brings back some fond memories.
I'd be falling off to sleep, around the 5th or 6th inning
and the pumm pumm pumm of the drum would lull me into a
restful afternoon nap, only to wake up in the 9th to
find the Cubs batting, only 3 runs behind
Can Qualls quell the Sox?
Well I'm not from the midwest and don't know if those ads ran here (but have heard of them from various sources). I do know
that as a young kid, listening to Red Sox games, I quickly
learned the ad jingle to a product I couldn't buy legally yet:
Schaefer/Is the/One beer to have/When you're having more
than one....
Love that song, I requested it a few weeks ago in the Canteen.
Indeed he can!
To the seventh. 4-3 Sox.
Yes I have it on a 2 CD set of Goodman's best. The set also includes a song he did for WGN radio (they put out a record of it):
Go Cubs Go
Go Cubs Go
Hey Chicago whaddaya say?
The Cubs are gonna win today
Baseball time is here again
You can hear it all on WGN
So stomp your feet and clap your hands
Chicago Cubs got the greatest fans... etc.
Oh man... I can almost hear Harry sing "Jody, Jody Davis..."
Does that CD have Lincoln Park Pirates?
I always liked that one
Joe Crede, star of the game so far.
Yikes... who is is this chick singing WAY off-key? Bring back Josh Groban!
Liz Phair can't sing worth a S&IT. Yikes.
Maybe it's just me but I think that woman sounds horrible.
Liz Phair singing God Bless America--who's that ugly long-haired girl to her left? No wait, that's a guy...
