After all this she still likes everyone she meets.

Animals never cease to amaze me. They are truly God's creatures.

Yeah, I'll field dress and wrap the deer.

And tonight I also got my Arab to pull two landscape timbers with the tire wrapped together.

Pretty heavy load for an 800 pound horse. He did pull it but not as well as I would have liked.

Ya'll have no idea how much I appreciate the support. When I'm having problems I always know I can vent here and have friends who understand by my side.

Our Arab was also rescued.

I have a lot of pity for animals, but very little pity for those who abuse them.

Our Arab would rear and run if you moved your hand too fast in front of her face. Now my 10 year old can ride him.

He also has a sweet spirit, which saved his life. A lot of horses never come back mentally.

Hi,we live in northern Ashland county near Sullivan. We have about 150 acres-73 are in hay, mostly timothy. We both work full time off the farm,so the hay gets done on weekends and evenings-did about 9000 bales this year. The dry weather really slowed the regrowth of the second cutting.Regards,Dean

Remember that for pulling, the horse collar was a pretty good invention. If you are serious you should get one. It improves the ability to pull significantly.

I am not that serious about pulling.

Just trying to get them to try new things. A few weeks ago I had the Arab pull a really scary lawn chair, just to get him used to something following him.

I was thinking about this today and was going to the stables. 5 minutes til 5 our risk manager dropped in with other plans for me. I'm back on weight watchers and tomorrow another day I guess. I'm really thinking about dragging my butt out of bed at day break. I kind of lump that up there with dennists and exercise machines though.

Now I'm really going to feel bad when I smile big and say what a lucky donkey Charlee is, if you have changed your mind and offted him before I get to the end of the posts:')

"if she's halter broke and manageable."

That's actually part of the problem, she is halter broke and very manageable. If she was a mean, hateful thing, the decision would be so much easier. With the exception of stomping dogs and cats that get too close, she's extremely loveable. I must admit, it is a riot to watch her chase the dogs.

I don't think she's getting offed any time soon. :)

I need to learn how to post videos, like Hair does. Charlee will bray anytime you say "charlee, charlee, charrrrrleeeeee."

I bought this bareback pad off of ebay ( I took the stirrups off. Those are dangerous on a bareback pad) but I have a problem: none of the straps on it will go around Tuffy. I took the strap off that came with it and got out my longest cinch and still no go. I really like this pad, I'm thinking of taking it to a saddler and see if there is anything they can do. Tuffy is doing much, much better, by the way. No limp at all anymore.
