This is the front line, it use to be two strands of just smooth wire.
I need about 3 more panels to finish the front line, but I'm about give out dragging them around. Might not finish till tomorrow.
I need to go to the back of the boat.
Becky
It looks nice so far!
Hey - I think that's going to be a nice improvement over the wire alone. Will you have to put wire on it, either to keep him from pushing it over, or cribbing on it?
He wears his cribbing collar now 24/7. I hate that but he can find so many things to crib on that it's just a have to thing.
When everything is done, I'll wire the panels to the posts that are there. It's pretty stable so far, but just to be sure:)
I think I'm going to go ahead and leave the back line of panels to the arena, just extend them to the back corner of the barn. That way I'll still have an enclosed arena, and can shut Harley in a safe area, till I get the back line of fence in better shape to make sure Rocky doesn't come thru. It will also save me having to move alot of panels:)
Becky
So the cribbing collar does work? I've wondered about them.
The canal locks
This part of the trail, you could not take horses, because of the canal boat rides they give in the summer. Horses and mules pull the boats. On the other end of town, there is a 25 mile trail, that horses are allowed
The canal boat, closed down for the season.
Lugar just had to go for a swim. He was not doing any head shaking, so I let him cool off.
Dang, how much do those panels weigh? That's a lot of work, but it sure does look nice. You do this yourself?
LOL...I remember that, used to use crayons too, to expand my little farm. No dollies for this kid.
Yeah, they really do work. Stops them cold. And so far it hasn't made any rub marks on him, even tho he keeps it on all the time.
Becky
Oh my, I sure hope it clears up for you people in the New England States. It's cloudy, windy and a lot colder today here. Nothing at all like yesterday.
I'm not really sure how much they weigh. Probably not all that much, it's more that they are so awkward to move around. I'm not dragging anymore. Tomorrow I'll use the bobcat. I'd have used it today, but it was low on fuel, and the tank is high and I have trouble getting the can up that high to dump it in. I'm leaving in a minute to go get some so Mack can put it in for me tonight. With the bobcat I should be able to finish tomorrow.
Becky
I've seen those horse drawn boats in pictures, I'd love to see them in person. Glad you had a good campin' trip!
Well, that's good to know. I haven't had to deal with that horse vice, yet.
The panels look really nice, Becky.
Hopefully Rocky own't have to wear the cribbing collar forever. Maybe he'll get frustrated with trying and give it up.
Remember that horse I always rode over at the trail riding place? Foyt?
Well he's ~really~ addicted to it. Even when we're out riding, if we stop anywhere near a wooden fence or post, he'll grab the top rail between his teeth and yank on it back and forth while making these weird grunting sounds.
Strange.
What a lovely place!
Niece, great niece, dog, rabbit and feral (?) cat - not horse pictures but I thought it was kind of neat.
Boy, I can't believe what you're doing by yourself. That is a lot of work. Do you have forks on your bobcat? We put panels on the forks and use the tractor to drive them around to where we are putting them up. That is going to look so nice when you're done.
Big, Beautiful Hunter's Full Moon, Good Morning to all!
I finally got around to seeing what my TB could pull. I started with pulling an orange cone on a 25 foot line.
That was no problem. So I tied it to a HEAVY landscape timber. Then a tire. Within 5 minutes she was pulling TWO landscape timbers AND the tire.
She pulled it from behind and also pulled it backing up.
I know how I am going to get my deer out of the woods this year. ;-)
Good morning! There's blue sky here today!
