Speaking of record setting temps reminded me of one winter when we had records set.
At that time we were heating the house with nothing but a wood burning stove, that really in normal conditions did an excellent job. But that one winter we had temps below zero and wind chills like -40. It was horrible. I moved a mattress into the living room. Hung blankets over doorways. And we all camped out infront of the stove for several days. I had filled the bath tub up so we would be able to flush, it froze solid. I think that is the worst we ever had. I'm thankful we didn't have horses yet. That would really have been hard to deal with.

He's behind the Git N Go by the church...down there on 131st and Memorial. Within walking distance of my house. We actually bundled up and walked over and got the car yesterday!

Cav, I had to post these pictures of your cat that I took this morning. He seems to like posing for the camera. Was that a skill that you taught him? ;o)

This looks like a really cool movie, I would like to see. Reviews call it a LOTR "wanna be"...lol My daughter said it was on of her favorite books.
Narnia
To: MissTargets
We will probably go see it too... though I've not been into Narnia like I am LoTR... It looks beautifully done!
Good morning everyone :~D

We made some progress, but we have to go back :~\

Great 'Sears portraits" of Cav's kitty :~D Yeah, it's like he went and got under the Christmas tree and said "Take my picture!", then he went and got on the recliner and did the same thing. I probably took a dozen pictures and he just sat there, the little camera hog. ;o)

He''s the only cat I've ever seen sit like that, with his butt in the chair and his front legs up on the arm. The other two much prefer to lay in the chair like this...

They're rotten!

Mine prefer the old shag toilet seat cover that sits on my desk. If any one of them eats another meal, they aren't all going to fit on it. I may have to go garage saling for more of these toilet seat covers :~D

Aw, Cartman and his kitties sure are cute. I'm glad the old bugger came back coz they would've missed him.
Miss Pearl, the lighter gray tabby, has taken to sleeping on top of the chest of drawers in our bedroom on one of my husband's t-shirts. I took it down last night to wash it and put a folded-in-half towel up there for her to sleep on but she would have none of it. As soon as I put "her" t-shirt back she got right up there and went to sleep. It was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. I guess the towel didn't have the desired smell. My husband takes this as a compliment, but I tell him that they also like to sleep on the smelly horse blankets that I throw on the laundry room floor prior to washing them, so he shouldn't be quite so pleased by their taste in smells. ;o)

Yeah - I think he's good for them, and I'd have missed him too. He's a nice old kitty :~D
oh - observation from last night. We went to put Cyn's thicker quilted blanket on her last night because it was gonna get down into the teens. She hadn't worn it yet this year. The straps were adjusted so short it was like it wasn't even her blanket. She's gained a full 9-10 inches of girth around the barrel since last winter, and she's not fat now.
