Costumes look fun, and Bam Bam looks like she was going pretty nicely!
Any bucks or foibles? What do you do to lead up to backing for the first time?

She's sure swishing her tail. How old is she?

She's been lunged carrying a saddle first, then she's backed with Bob on the ground leading her, then lunging her, then Tracey riding her through all her gaits.
No bucking but everytime Tracey kicked her to move her up a gait, she stopped dead. I wasn't here but I guess she can stop on a dime :)
Basically it's a matter of trust and she trusts Bob and Tracey so it's just a matter of teaching her what they are asking of her.

She's six now I believe. She's swishing her tail because she's confused - well confused isn't the right word really, she doesn't know what she's being asked to do for sure, and is not sure she really wants to do whatever it is.
It's Tracey riding her, Bob at the fence.

That is a pretty funny reaction.... but a nice safe one. I'd prefer they stop when they're surprised or confused than the other alternatives they have!
