He is really a nice looking QH. I'm partial to bay's:)

Here are a few more pictures from my ride this morning.

Hair, funny you should say my trails look open. When I first posted pictures on the NES Thread everyone was surprised whe had trees and hills. They all thought OK was just flat and open. It seemed very wooded to them:)

Well, I would have thought your whole state was flat grassland too, until you first started sharing pictures :~D It's all relative :~D

I like bays too, especially the really dark ones. Your dressage picture is very nice, so classic looking.

Beautiful! :~D Thanks for sharing them. I am familiar with Trakehners, I've spent a little time in dressage arenas too, and love it. Someday I'll have the right horse to do it again. Bay has the movement and presence to do it, but I'm really not into it right now, he really hates the work, and at 24, I'm letting him do what he wants, which is trail. We'll be sure you add you to the 'who's who' page, hopefully this weekend.

I'm back from town, picked up shavings.... we sure went through shavings fast this last couple weeks with the pony pee issue.

Last night though, small wet spot and back to what I would consider normal for her. She didn't drink much from her bucket all night. Hmmm.... Now she'll prolly stop drinking. :~\

We haev that weed here too Frog. The 26 acre field is covered in it and needs mowing desperatly. The cows just eat all around it.
Here are some pictures of our friends cotton fields nearby, it is cotton picking time. This field has yet to be defoliated, then you will be able to see the cotton more and it looks like a field os snow.
It is eventually crushed into massive bales and taken to the cotton gin. The roads have cotton balls all down them from the drive! :)

I found out all kinds of stuff when I went Googling for invasive weeds. The other one I have is called Prickly Sida. It's not nearly as spiny as the other one but it really takes over and seeds like crazy. The Spiny Amaranth will eat your butt up if you touch it, almost as bad as a thistle.

My horses have slacked off drinking. I've heard so many people say their horses drink as much or more in the winter then summer, I've never noticed that. Maybe with the salt gone and cooler weather she just won't need so much.

Is Harley ready for the ride? Hmmmmm, I think I've got all his problems fixed, the back and his feet. I should have been riding him more this past week, but I've still got two before the ride. Starting Sat. (I'm babysitting the grandkids for the next 2 days) I'm going to start working on longer rides, 2-3 hours every other day. I think by the ride he'll be fine.

It is actually going to be a very easy ride, only 15 miles each day. I'm not sure how they are getting this ride sanctioned by the Association, but it is. Novice should be doing 20. I've ridden fairly often at the park it will be at. Lots of hills, but they are not really long climbs.

I bet that would be cool. I was enjoying seeing the leaves swirl in the road when I drove thru them on my way home from town just now. I'll be cotten would be even better:)

I feel really lazy saying this, but I'm gonna take a nap. I really didn't sleep well last night, maybe got four-five hours worth and I'm really sleepy.

Thanks. :-) The dam is still holding, and I don't think that anything is going to happen, really. I was on the Taunton River dam thread, and quite frankly, I can believe what a**holes some freepers can be.

Great and thanks! I have a neat photo of me, Jake, and my Jack Russell Terrier, Sourdough Jack at a show but I will have to look for it. I don't remember having the digital camera then so it is probably a regular photo somewhere in our photo albums. Anyway, here is a photo of my dog, Jack:

One more batch of pictures:)

Going down into the creek where it is usually a lot deeper. Quick story. That day I rolled off of Belle on that steep hill, I really didn't know what had happened at first. One minute I was sitting on her the next I was laying under her head and she was looking at me like "what the hell are you doing there:)". Well once I got my composure back and got back on, I went to this creek crossing. It's a bit steep to down into the water from this side. She got part way down so was standing at an angle again and bent down to drink. THAT"S when I figured out what had happened back on the hill. I felt the saddle start to tip up that time as I almost went head first into the creek. I then realize that without the back cinch I needed to watch for this to happen:)

Coming home around the end of the arena.

Looking out at Rocky's side.

And speaking of Rocky's side. I don't think he likes the panels. Maybe the make him feel more closed in, he has been paceing the front line. He's never done that before. I thought that interesting, not knowing for sure what is making him do that.

Here's Susie:)

Oh, and here is a picture I ran out and took back while we were talking about our differnt soils and I said I had alot of rock. Yesterday I knocked over some dead trees out in my pasture. This is one reason I hate doing that. So many rocks come up with the roots. These came from just one tree being pushed over, and it wasn't that big of a tree.
