So it was just a dead battery, huh? Could have been worse.
And with a check coming tomorrow, the timing's alright. If there ever is really a good time for a broke-down truck, that is. :-D

got the bead on the skunk... he "got it"... he knew why we were out there... getting a bead on a skunk is never to be encouraged ;~D
They aren't as common as they used to be, years go by nowadays between times that I catch a whiff.
Are they not in FLA at all?

The repair guy said the battery was from 1993. So it lived a good long life. But it's time had come.

You'll be fine tomorrow, chica. Just relax, take a deep breath, put on your best smile and think "here goes nothing!".
Oh! And a super-charged Corolla is a Camry. It's VEY nice as far as sedans go.

Wow...isn't typical battery life only about five years?
Maybe that's in colder climates.
Still...yeah, I'd say it had lived a long and successful life...

But ZERO pick-up. If I needed to pass someone, I had to turn off the A/C first to get the extra zip I needed. Mmmm... hehehe... that would 'splain why I wanna keep the Mustang and yet get something that's more "practical" for crummy weather. Sure... the 0-to-60 will get your attention... but it's the 60-to-130 that gets you digging your fingernails into the seats. :-) [sigh] I love that part. :-)

Supposedly we have both spotted and striped skunks in Florida, but I've never seen either.
Maybe the gators ate them all up!

Ya know...my ideal car would probably be something like a Camry wagon, but they don't make 'em. Haven't since '96.
I test drove a used one right before I got the van. It was NICE. Vey smooth driving, and with the same "cockpit" as my Corolla, pretty much.
But it had a salvage title. Flood. That was one of the reasons it didn't work out.
Wish they still made 'em - maybe even with AWD.
I guess that's a very sad and unadventurous ideal car!

Battery was from 93? I don't think so... That would make it pretty much OEM. I could swear there was a new battery put in there a few years ago. But even so... they don't last forever. But... Good to get a new one anyway.

found this: "Having adapted well to neighborhoods, it's not uncommon to find skunks and domestic cats dining peacefully together. There have been cases of skunks entering homes through pet doors, dining with the family cat and finding a quiet closet or empty bed to spend the night. As long as the skunk does not feel threatened, it won't spray."
Also said their spray is accurate to 15 feet!

I guess that's a very sad and unadventurous ideal car!No way! You're a sensible Hobbit lass, after all.
If you could have any car you wanted, I'm sure a whole set of other possibilities would spring to mind though. ;-)

Hmmm, well that's what the repair guy said after looking at the alphanumeric code on it. But of course, that would be when it was manufactured, not necessarily when it was installed. So there's that.
