Heh... no :~D
Why don't you want her to have the knife?
Actually, LT Washington sent me her home phone number in her email. :)
Hang on folks...
Lots of great lines in that movie.
"Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer."
"A man that doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man."
"We don't discuss business at the table."
Heh...
Jeepers.
I got her email too... complete with phone number.
Just don't make me an off I can't refuse. ;~D
...and the bidding starts at... ???
Got my bidding paddle ready. :-)
'zactly
A lot could change. But this early, this isn't the last one we'll be watching.
Goodnight folks.
That pretty girl rides faster horses than any of you guys :~D
If that thing follows very closely the path shown, I hope it goes right over Hispaniola. Not wishing it on the Dominican Republicans, and especially not on the Haitians, but that would take some of the bubbles out of her seltzer, to put it politely.
I see that So FL is well within the cone of death.
Story of my life... :-(
Evening.
We watched "The Alamo" tonight. There was onepoint where I wondered if Tolkein got his inspiration for Helm's Deep from the night attack on the Alamo. Santa Ana's soldados reminded me of the orcs. Except of course, in this case, the good guys were essentially anihilated.
Interesting.... I haven't seen the movie "The Alamo"... so I can't comment on the imagery.
So... how pink did you want that ol' blue chevy? :-)
Yeah, I was telling my mother about the movie and trying to remember my Texas history... Geez! Now that I think about it, I don't think the movie exaggerated much. Historically, it is pretty accurate.
Like Bear said, there were about 180 men, against (I thought it was 10,000 Mexican troops) 5,000. Sanata Ana was trying to save face since he had just had to turn tail after a hugh defeat 6 weeks prior. He *knew* that there wasn't a big garrison at San Antonio, and yet he sent his entire army there to capture/claim it. Santa Ana thought he was Napoleon or something like him.
It was a bit drizzly when we got in Sunday afternoon.
Outside of internet access issues, it's been a good trip so far. Got to leaf-punch some hops (mmmmm....hops...) this morning and do lab stuff on them this afternoon. The guy who runs the test plots also has a produce stand and a pick-yer-own operation and we snacked on marion berries, cherries, and blueberries all afternoon. He also has 5 laying hens. We finished up kinda early this afternoon so we took a side trip to a winery. Mmmmmm.....free wine tasting.
Tomorrow it's back to the hops and then off to the next site....beans.
I'll get off the hotel computer now and try to convince my laptop that I really do want a dial-up connection or hack the hotel hotspots. I can get the RV park across the street but I don't want to sign up for an account.
