I think MissTarget was talking about something like that the other day. I've never seen it.
Becky
Kristy is running in the 18's almost all the time. But she is flucuating between high 18's and low. That usually puts her in the 2nd divison. Becky
That would be fun to watch.
Becky
Taking pictures of the TV screen worked out pretty good too ;~D I had to turn the flash off.
I didn't even realize that was the TV screen. I thought you must have found pictures of it on the internet.
Cooool:)
Becky
How are the dollars split up? Is it depending on number of entries to split up? I'd assume the 3rd place 1D is still more money than the 1st place 2D.
I've got to go feed horses, and see how the guys are doing on my truck:). see you later.
Becky
That's another thing that depends on where the race is held. Some places they pay the same for each divison, some don't. I don't have a clue how they divide the mone. I do know it depends on the amount of people running. 3D's they usually just add 1/2 second to the times of each division.
Becky
Oh - well I suppose it would frost you a little to win less than a slower horse who got first in the next division down.... but jeepers... it's all just for fun.
I suppose the fairest way would be to pay the best 10 or so times, depending on how many were entered, so the top half wins.... that's not too big a hurdle to get newbies into the money. Better than the top three taking home everything.
We're going out too in a bit. Gonna meet my friend Sonya for a drink at the pub.
Huh. THat's interesting. Worth a try, I guess.
Flies horrible around the horses now. I put spray on a wipe today and did their faces. It worked but for how long.....
The white horse win?
I will be so glad when you get your horses moved. I hope the mare wasn't injured badly in the wire.
I forgot too - I've got them sitting on the bannister of my porch and yes - amazingly enough they seem to work. One fly in my house so far this year :)
Sunrise out of my dirty windshield. I was driving my car so I could do a breakfast run - hense, driving 65mph, and taking a picture at the same time. Don't think I'll make a habit of that.
Quest and Friday waiting for the show to start. Right about this time, a loose horse came running through.
Prez waiting for the show to start. Shortly after this, Tracey took Quest up to walk him in the arena so he could see what everything was. He's never been off the ranch except to be gelded. Then Bob walked Friday up to the arena to show her around. She was a backyard horse her whole life and a nervous wreck today. Then people are yelling "loose horse" again and Friday comes trotting up to the trailer without Bob. She had broken the chain on her lead line and took off - needed her buddies around her I guess. :)
Tracey and Prez. After this class, we had a class that we didn't have a horse in :) so we were standing at the gate area holding the three horses and people started yelling loose horse again. This time it was a stallion that had broken his halter at the trailer and was running loose at the gate area with no halter. That was interesting :)
Tracey and Prez again. Now we realized we had a problem. Both Prez and Friday were entered into the color class but the way the judge was using the arena required a lot of walking and Bob wasn't going to be able to do that. We needed to find someone to show Prez. Fortunately, a friend did not have a horse in the color class and could do it.
Tracey and Friday. Friday calmed down, got her "look of eagles" going and acted like a pro.
Tracey and Friday.
Prez and Lisa, Friday and Tracey in Color.
Friday took her second Second Place here. The Grand/Reserve wasn't going to require any walking the arena or trotting horses out, so Bob took Quest in that class.
Bob and Quest
Bob and Quest again. In the back row at the far left, you can barely see Friday, in the front row that Bob's in, to the far left is another friend with her leopard mare.
Great show pics.... they look great.
I love the color on Friday, she's really a flashy looker. And Quest looks very pretty and mature for a yearling! Prez of course is great, even if he didn't place well that day.
I think it's very cute for the little minis to be in there too.
How come you don't bring your stallion to be seen at these shows too? Are you marketing him to the public or just yourselves?
Lots of loose horses, sheesh!
So is the endurance ride tomorrow?
Our stallion is not halter quality so we don't show him. He has long lean muscles rather than bulky muscles they want in halter, plus his legs are scarred pretty badly, and his head has a bump on it. Not noticable until you start entering a beauty contest :) Then it gets you.
Well if things go as planned we will be pulling out Thur. Eddie and I are going shopping at TSC tomorrow. You have such pretty horses but Prez my favorite. He looks like he's been sprinkled in confectionary sugar.
