Oh, jeez, that is like the 78209 of Alamo Heights-everyone else contemptuously calls them "oh-niners"...

Only $550K? I'll run tell hubby to call the falls churcher loon in our old neighborhood right now-I'm sure they'll dash right out to put earnest money on it...

Ya'll can stop calling me a snob, now.
My grandparents bought this place, because, in 1945, it had the lowest real estate taxes in the area.
Then my folks bought it from them, and I bought it from my folks in 2000 or so.

Our home is over 3300 square feet, has lots of custom stuff and is on nearly an acre and I'd be astonished if I got offered 450 for it-it isn't for sale, anyway.

i won't call you a snob, bc i frankly don't see the appeal of FC and don't see it lauded as desirable by the people i know, other than just needing to live within the confines of St James parish so they can get into St James school. FC is too congested, houses too close together, for my taste, regardless of price.

POTOMAC is not a gated enclave, for God's sake, and the RE prices, home sizes and lot sizes are all substantially greater than FC. that comment was beyond the pale. it still makes me laugh.

after the GATED ENCLAVE comment, no one else here would know any better. they could be picturing God knows what, as that EDEN on EARTH, FC city. but since i happen to know better, i will continue to harangue you for that for some time.

FC is every bit as bad, $600k for tiny little dumps, i kid you not, with no yard to speak of. LOL! I read this as Motorhead's "Eat the Rich" is on the radio.
I'm in an expensive county, but $600,000 can get a McMansion here, and I might even be able to get 10 acres with it.
To: Dan from Michigan; patton
Lord, don't feed Patton's ego any further...
i am with you, if i am going to spend a lot of $ on a house, i would prefer not to be rubbing up against my neighbors.
