That, and having day care centers for their little bastards babies, and all the other feel good things that we fund.

It really passed pathetic quite some time ago - now, it seems to me totally insane to continue on with it.

"How long is the pain from a bee sting supposed to last?"

Did you get stung? Did you get the stinger out?

Yes, and I'm a pathetic baby about it! I didn't remember it hurting this much and lasting this long. I've been stung and bitten by everything from barrel cactuses to Yukon sand fleas but not by a bee in soooooooo long.

I was supposed to research something about squirrels for you, wasn't I? I finally pulled my book out and was looking up something about cats. I noticed the squirrel section nearby and thought whooppppppps.

I got into it the other day with a nurse at the health department. I finally had to end the conversation in consideration of the fact that I have to maintain some semblance of a working relationship with these people. It had to do with having to get signed permission from a child to discuss anything about their "reproductive" issues with their parents or custodians.

Babies have now become like the toy of the day.

They're not some blessing from God for a husband and a wife, that you nurture, teach, and love for the rest of your lives, but rather something that you get as a fashion statement, or a whim of the day purchase that you can dispose of at your will.

Mrs.L says that the rants are over for this evening.

Have a great one, everyone.

I've no idea what the permanent residents pay in taxation tribute. Would you give us an update on that facet of expatriation?

Is owning or renting a better go?

The vast majority own their own homes or apartments. This has been the pattern in Spain for many, many years. Which does have its drawbacks as it is difficult to get rid of old apartment blocks when you have to negotiate with all the owners. Builders of new apartments, build, sell and move on to the next project.

Renting is left to the individuals who rent their own apartments, or for local government subsidized apartments. Of course in the major cities rent control, introduced during the civil war, made every one leery of renting anything.

In the last three years they have built apartments for over 4000 residents here in little Sada – all for sale. I own two apartments in the same building and the local taxes are not a problem, amounting to a few hundred Euros annually. I am not up to speed on home ownership but taxes never seem to be a big item here for home ownership either.

Maintenance fees, on the other hand, can be quite heavy in some places- Of course Income Tax is an entirely different matter.

But now that the housing market, like that in most of the world, has gone through the roof, and as interest rates are low, there is an incentive for builders to rent for a few years before selling at a much higher price. I know the Locales ( ground floor spaces,) that used to be sold to businesses, bars, stores etc. can’t be bought at any price they are all for rent now, especially in prime locations.

Good Monday morning everybody! I'm posting to you from my undisclosed location at the inlaws in Very Smalltown USA. Somebody here in town finally put a satellite internet system in and we are able to work at better than dialup at least. So far, while cable is available, cable internet isn't.....go figure!

How is everybody doing at the Door these days? I haven't been able to check in much, but I've been thinking about you all. Very busy on our end.

Off to check the news, have a great day everyone.
