"Rocky Raccoon, checked into his room, only to find Gideon's Bible."
"Her name was Magill, but she called herself Lil, but everyone knew her as Nancy.."

LOL!

OMG...you ought to hear my brother play the guitar and sing "Rocky Raccoon". He is very talented. Now I need the rest of the verses. LOL

Wish I could sing!
That was my fave Beatles song!

I'll see what I can dig up for you.

Got a heavy downpour going on...and some thunder here. Don't know how long this is supposed to last. I suppose I ought to check.

Dunno how accurate these lyrics are offhand, but I think io found them.

The Beatles - Rocky Raccoon
(written by: Lennon/McCartney)

From the album "The White Album"

Now somewhere in the Black Mountain Hills of Dakota
there lived a young boy named Rocky Raccoon,
and one day his woman ran off with another guy,
hit young Rocky in the eye.
Rocky didn't like that
He said, "I'm gonna get that boy".
So one day he walked into town
booked himself a room in the local saloon.

Rocky Raccoon checked into his room,
only to find Gideon's Bible.
Rocky had come, equipped with a gun,
to shoot off the legs of his rival.
His rival it seems, had broken his dreams,
by stealing the girl of his fancy.
Her name was Magill, and she called herself Lil,
but everyone knew her as Nancy.
Now she and her man, who called himself Dan,
were in the next room at the hoe down.
Rocky burst in, and grinning a grin,
he said, "Danny boy, this is a showdown".
But Daniel was hot, he drew first and shot,
and Rocky collapsed in the corner.

Now the doctor came in, stinking of gin,
and proceeded to lie on the table.
He said, "Rocky, you met your match".
And Rocky said, "Doc, it's only a scratch.
And I'll be better, I'll be better, Doc, as soon as I am able".

Now Rocky Raccoon, he fell back in his room,
Only to find Gideon's Bible.
Gideon checked out, and he left it, no doubt,
to help with good Rocky's revival.

Thanks Darks. It brought back a memory of my brother singing and playing it at a small blue grass festival of family members. Most of my family plays a musical instrument or sings beautifully. When he began, the whole crowd was silent because they had never heard anything like it, really.

We were all Elvis fans. LOL

I have just finished sewing eighteen patches on a brownie vest, by hand. I could shoot my daughter, really. I tried to teach her to at least do simple sewing chores like sewing on buttons or repairing a hem on a dress. But, no....she wouldn't. Now I think I'm going to try to teach my granddaughter.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.

Welcome!
I, unfortunately, have no musical talent whatsoever.
Singing is far beyond me, and I shouldn't even try.

But if I could sing, there are quite a few songs I'd love to be able to sing.

Looks like most of the bad weather is down to the South of us, but it will keep raining till tomorrow morning. Hope they're right about the sun coming out. We could use it.
