Well, I decided to try to watch this movie, after debating with myself for quite awhile. I had not read any reviews (except this one and related comments) nor seen any previews. I did read the book, although it was some time ago. I read the book because I work in the field of public transportation and encounter folks like Beth on occasion.

My sister and I tuned in at 9, turned down the sound at 9:10, and the tv was shut off shortly after 9:30. I called a friend of mine who was also watching the movie (a more dedicated bus freak than I). He was upset because the movie was not following the book. We did not talk long. as he was trying to watch, whereas I had given up. I did not get his opinion on rosie as Beth.

Shortly after 11, my mom called. Apparently, she watched the entire movie and described it as absolutely horrendous. IMO, the book had the potential to be a good movie, but casting rosie as Beth was just bad. IIRC, Beth was outspoken and stubborn at times, which we all are, but rosie did a horrible job portraying her. As you point out, unfortunately she will get recognition for what she describes as a 'scary role'. I just wish someone had put more time and effort into what could have been a good movie.

PS-Just in case anyone wants to know:
Exterior Bus shots: mostly Orion's, with 1 New Flyer CNG (years/lengths unknown)
Interior Bus shots: Flxible (year/length unknown)
These are the buses I saw before turning the tv off.
