I love that pony. :-) Of course, I've never met her either. ;-) Those are some really great pics. You're very talented. Maybe I've asked this before, but are you a professional photographer, or have you just had lots of practice? :-)
Nah, you're never to old to drool over horse pics.
I'm having issues posting tonight. I think I'll go to bed.
I'm flattered :~D Once in a while I get a great shot. None of these are 'great' today, but they're 'good'. ;~D I did have some photography classes in high school and on my own... In college I was the photo editor and only photographer for our college newspaper. That was back in the days when we shot film, in black and white, and had to do all the dark room developing. Cropping was with a knife and we had to paste it on real paper! Nowadays I bet they're all digital too. By practice or by fate, I found my talent was in pictures of people or animals. I can shoot a candid of an event or a game in action, but I can't shoot an interesting landscape if it is on fire. But prop someone up in front of it, and I know how to shoot it ;~D. I've taken great portraits of friends.
It's interesting, because ecurbh is quite a talented artistic landscape photographer, but I think I take better portraits. As a team, you'd think we could hire ourselves out.
With horses, it's half luck. Fractions of a second make the difference between a good shot and a great one, where they are just at the right place in their stride. The key is to take lots of pictures. I toss out 80% of what I shoot.
I've never published any of the horse shots I've taken. I've thought about submitting a couple of them for a calendar contest or something, but I don't know how to do that.
I'm having issues too.... are you on comcast? They're having major troubles. I'm about to give up.

Me three! Argh!!!
Mornin' Hair,
Your pics are gorgeous. That first pic of Bay trotting, did you notice that not one foot is touching the ground? He appears to float.
That's pretty funny about the leather strap/shoestring story. The only time I had something break was on an old western saddle that I had stored away. I was riding this young horse in it and we were going up and down a small hill when the entire fender fell off on one side. The leather had dry rotted. Sure was a surprise! The horse didn't appear to notice anything wrong, luckily.
"LOL....LISTEN HERE LADY.....
don't apologize for posting 'so many pictures'.
Apologize for not posting ENOUGH!"
You go, girl!
"I'll chalk your faggots up there with that too. :-)"
I don't eat faggots, either.
Good morning
Becky
deaconjim said something along those lines..........a little more words and feeling though! LOL : D
good morning!
it's only 50 here at the moment BRrrr. I have got used to the high 70s and 80s! : D I might even have to put some jeans on! I cant belive how it can go from the 80s to the 50s like this. Its not even supposed to get above 65 today : (
We wont be on here much as we are off to buy Jacobs birthday bike and visit Mama at the hospital.
I'd better go put those jeans on and get out of here to go feed horses.
have a great day!
Hey Neat, Hair caught the suspended stride of the trot. I've never actually seen it in a picture before. (Or in real life for that matter, because it hapens so fast.)
I think that you guys should go out together as a team in photography. But of course, that is just my humble opinion. My aunt and uncle did it for a number of years and they were sucessful at it. They even had their own dark room. (I believe)
You must be getting the weather we have had for the last few days. It's been a bit cool here, but today and for the next 7 days we are to have 70's and so far no rain in the forecast:)
Becky
Have a good day!
I haven't had time to ride this week. I'm hoping to spend some time in the saddle this weekend. We are supposed to have rain coming in tomorrow. I hope it's a miss.
