Last season, Jack's teenage daughter went right into the I.T. team with only babysitting experience. That's affirmative action! You're forgetting that 3 years time passed between Season Two and Season Three, so that would put Kim in her early twenties, possibly post-college. She was only a teenager in Season One.

The producers figured Kim had been kidnapped enough so they wrote her off this season--a wise move, IMO. Nothing against her though :)
