"what kind of beer is shipped in train cars? Not any that is likely to be any great loss is my conclusion."
Maybe not in this country, but I heard it from an eyewitness (and a heavy user, I might add) that they used to ship fresh Czech beer to Vienna, Austria by railroad tank car every day. Of course, it is but a short distance there.

After I typed that, a horror went up my spine. What if it was Guinness?

Investigating officers said the leak did not contaminate any nearby water sources nor affect any highways

Obviously not Stroh's then.

From that description, my guess would be Miller Lite. It's pretty much pure water.

I can't compress the 34 hours of the round trip and the beer time into the 19 hours I have.

That's thinking inside the box. There are creative solutions. The easiest that comes to mind is that you could charter a plane. Drive faster - if you double your speen, it only takes half the time, leaving 3 hours to spare.

Don't look for problems, find solutions.

Pending the identification of the brand of the beer, no one should be executed just yet.

It's Congress's fault.
They should NEVER have permitted the beer industry to merge and consolidate to achieve such economies of scale that such massive quantites of beer have to be shipped by rail. We would be MUCH better off if we busted up these centralized brewers of weasel whiz. Then we could have local brewers EVERYWHERE!!!
