Back later
The idea of not being able to get my window down so I can swim out of my car is just horrifying to me! LOL
Heh! My phobia. Driving over bridges and falling into water or accidently driving off a road into a flooded ditch or something. I have learned that phobias are irrational fears and that the person with the phobia knows it's irrational but has it nonetheless.
Good morning everyone!
Make it really strong and it should be ok. *yawn* er... what was I talking about? hmmm Tea, need some...
*blush*
Thanks, Sam! I think I need a lot more practice, but I'm workin' on it...
One thing I like about my van is that the windows still roll up and down after the car is turned off and the key pulled out, until a door is opened. So...I can still roll windows up or down if I forget when we first stop.
It's strong. Seems to be working OK...
This type thing happens pretty frequently here in Tulsa...
We've got several low spots that this happens to. As a matter of fact, coming home from the fair we were in a torrential downpour and the roads flooded. Celeste was driving, and we had to turn around more than once because we wouldn't chance it. I was absolutely beside myself but with a carload of kids, I couldn't show it.
g'mornin'
The reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. ;-)
Last night was the first night I haven't had an attack of some measure since I was sleeping off the dentist drugs. Woke up a lot, but it wasn't because I couldn't breathe.
Running late here and I see there is work to do...I'll catch up in a few...
Well, that's a bit of good news!
See ya later.
I think I have caught your cough.... I started getting all congested yesterday!
Good morning!
I am actually with the white-knuckler on electric windows.... They make ~me~ nervous for flood as well.
I just wish they had a manual crank just in case. Hard to find cars without electric windows nowadays.
Oh defrosting.... one thing that works real well and is not expensive is a spray bottle full of rubbing alcohol. Will melt ice when you don't want to scrape and don't have time to warm it off.
Yeah, I wish they had backup. We rarely have flood conditions here, but...it's still worrying.
I use the windshield wiper fluid on the front...but that could work for the side windows...I should try that!
I also need to just get out there BEFORE five minutes after I shoulda left...
Glad you're feeling a bit better! Sleep is good!
Dad got me a little pointed hammer that is made to break out windows... if you have wrecked and landed in water, chances are, the door might be too bent to roll the window down anyhow. I wonder about my chance of finding the hammer when I need it, but safety hammers do exist.
We'll pray for Madelynn and her parents. Corin and the Mrs. have been down that road.
That sounds like a very good idea!
I still don't have a first aid kit and safety supplies for my van. I really should get some things before winter...NOT a good thing to get stuck somewhere with absolutely nothing when it's twenty or thirty below.
Mornin'!
I'm glad to hear you finally got a good night's rest, Corin. The drugs are finally kicking in! :-D
Sorry, it was prolly on that ~other~ thread...
