Do you think maybe owner died? He looks like an old dog, well loved and just recently on his own. That may be why no one has claimed him.
Thanks for being nervous:), (you just don't want me to sell him:)
Once again tho, my boy was perfect. The ladies really liked him. One of them rode him and was impressed by his whoa. Once again, they agree that he is definitly and English horse, moves so nice. The lady paying for the horse is the grandmother of the 10 yr old. Any horse they get will be rode by the grandmother, her daughter, and her granddaughter. The grandmother and daughter are the ones that came. The grandmother is the one that rode him. She said she would just have problems paying my price. But the amount that she said she would pay has come up $1000 since last night:).
They are going to call the lady that worked with him this summer on jumps. But I doubt that they will buy him....who know.
Gotta go to work, see tonight.
Becky
I found that out doing genealogy on my husband's family - old south from 1640 to 1865 when half of them went west.
And I just gotta admit, sweetie, I love you alls southern drawl.
:)
Alright, next time I won't paint with so broad a brush.
Ohhhhhh, yes, that makes sense. My hide is still chapped, though. Maybe worse, now.
It is right pleasin to the ear, ain't it. One other thing. The South and anything Southern ain't just a direction, it's a place, so we usually capitalize the S.
Been off work almost two weeks and have had clear cool weather the whole time. Been riding almost every day. Riding that new 3 year old this week. He's starting to come around and his neck reining has improved a lot. Just got back from picking up a few round bales so I'll get him out in a little while and work on him for an hour or so.
Are you still over there? I don't think I have the energy to take that on today! We've been out barn cleaning and fixing and drainage cleaning.... ready now for rainy weather... and for some lunch.
Yeah, and I'm discussing it with a really nice jewish person who is civil and uninsulting in the debate. Somebody was a jerk last night. If people can't disagree in an adult, civil manner then I give up. Hostile people lose credibility, in my opinion.
Hey, I just looked at your about page, what a beautiful home you have!
I also have an Impressive bred horse and he's big and muscular, like yours. He's also HYPP positive. At 15 years old, he's never had any symptoms so he's probably just a carrier, which is not a big deal since he's a gelding. What's yours HYPP status?
Yep, that's the first thing that got my attention with my husband (born and raised in North Carolina).
I envy you your weather right now - the front of the California storm hit us a couple of hours ago. Snow and prediction of snow through the week-end.
Sounds like your three year old is really coming along. (I'll remember the "S") :)
I saw tuffydoodle's comment and went to your page. That is a wonderful home, with a great view. Like the horses too of course.
Glad Harley did well with the ladies... we'll see what they decide their budget is... ;~D
Hi all, sorry I haven't been around. Just got back from new york, hope everyone had a good christmas/whatever :-) Just got back from the tackshop. Bought a new helmet.
OK, I checked out your home page too:) It is pretty, very.
Question: I've seen that picture I think of the second horse...but I don't remember you being the one to post it. I was thinking a lady did. Am I imagining that:)? Have you posted it before on the thread?
Only reason I'm asking is I was sure it was posted by a lady, so I'm confused. Could be my old age showing tho:)
Becky
He posted pictures of these guys at the beginning of this thread, posts 25 and 26 - remember, first pictures were thumbnails.
Good morning.
Becky
Good morning!
Don't you just love bringing something new home from the tack shop?
Good morning!
I'm learning something new. Since Tuffy has a serious allergy problem and the only help I'm getting from the vets is to give him steroids, I decided to get some books and do some studying. I got a textbook called Manual of Equine Dermatology and one called The 5 Minute Veterinary Consult from Barnes and Noble.com. (www.bn.com). The Dermatology book has some seriously gross pics but I guess that's how you learn. I try not to be squeamish. The spirulina that I'm giving Tuffy is working but I'm afraid when the bugs really come out, it's not going to be enough. I'm going to call the County Extension Agent to come out and give me some tips on better insect control.
The steroid shots don't do alot of good on my dog either. Do you have chickens? Chickens have been the best insect control I have ever tried. We have ticks here very bad. Once I got chickens they just disappered. We still have fleas tho.
What insect give you the most problems>
Becky
We have mosquitos year round but I'm not sure that that is what's causing Tuffy's problem. Whatever is bothering him gets through a fly mask with ears so it has to be tiny. A fly mask doesn't help.
Yes, I do have chickens but they are in a coop. I'm afraid to let them go, my dogs chase them.
We do have fleas but I use Frontline regularly on all of my dogs and cats and it works like a miracle. We do have ticks here but I haven't had any trouble with them.
