hehehe ... maybe that's it! wow, it's almost like you UNDERSTAND what i'm saying ... THAT can't be good.
I rode a pacer once. A standardbred off the track. THAT really is a strange sensation. And I wasn't sure I could get used to it! My friend thought yes, he's a trail rider and the trot isn't a big deal. But I am an English rider, and the trot is the signature gait in English horsemanship and dressage. What would I do?
Oh c'mon Hair, that's like saying you don't wanna get new shoes coz they wouldn't hurt like the old ones did. LOL!
Ohhhhhhhhh, I dated a guy once that owned a pacer. That IS a weird thing!!
BWA HA HA ... now who is making the assumtions???
I true fluent trot DOES NOT HURT!! Neither does a nice western JOG..
Hehe....
They can make a billy-goat gait with big enough pads on the front. I don't like it and I wish they would outlaw it.
Every trotting horse I'VE ever ridden has hurt my butt.
But you're right, I've seen some that have a jog that looks really cushy, almost like their bones had springs in 'em.
Do you have to own a horse to be in your Saddle Club?
I can answer .... NO.
I don't currently own one either.
ICK
Nah, you just have to have horses on the brain and the inability to keep your opinions to yourself. ;O)
Is that an "ICK" as in "ICKY, YUCKY" or is it some accronym that I'm not familiar with? My brain's a little slow sometimes.
Nope! If you're interested in them, or will be interested, or have been interested, you are welcome!
ICKY YUCKY .. skin-crawling ..
I can't go the BIG LICK.
Rode one of those once two. The Canter was GROSS.
Those guys aren't subtle.
I can't appreciate their movement with the exaggerated weighted feet and chains either. And I did a little of the wooden ankle bobs with my stallion trying to make him a park horse when he wasn't.
I can really appreciate the natural foot ones though.
Well, it's definately not NATURAL. The things some show people do those poor horses to make them "break level" or higher is criminal.
If you've got a natural, flat-shod running walk, you've really got something. It will breed true also. I love to see little week old foals just racking a hole in the ground beside their mamas. Makes me smile!
