Many within the campaign tend to agree with your observation. The best thing is for this story to be closed.
We are winning on the real issues and the real debate on what is best for the next four years. This only proves a distraction in many regards.
With that said, the benefit of proving these documents false is very real. Though, it todays spinning 24hour media that will be hard to do. That is where the he said, she said debate would tend to play out.
If you noticed CBS, CNN and much of the radio news breaks today continued to assert the incorrect allegations brought forth by the 60 minutes interview. This is not what we need the media talking about. They are going to spin this in the worst light for the George W. Bush Administration whenever possible.
Though, I will say, I love watching CBS sweat!
Tempest, you asked, "Do you think Killian would have "personal memos" submitted for typesetting?"
My answer is no, I don't think Killian would do any such thing. I am convinced the new documents unveiled on 60Min were bogus. I was very curious, however, when I heard the defense of these documents include a claim that other vetted documents had similar features.
We've got to seize this situation and turn it on CBS and expose it for the media bias event that it is.
