I just saw the most dreadful ad by moveon.org. A woman investor claiming to be a Republican was stating she would be voting for Kerry. She didn't care if she's considered unpatriotic and loses clients.

She looked like a crazy person.

Is this the best they can do?

Poor eff'n's campaign's in such a mess that I don't think it's possible for him to ever recover.

I saw that MoveOn commercial with the sound muted, and thought it was an ad for some type of beauty treatment, e.g., facelift, industrial strength Oil of Olay, or something that woman really needed a heck of a lot more than she needs Kerry to become president! Then when I saw it with sound, and realized she was saying that she's afraid to speak her mind (why?) and that she - a Republican - was going to vote for Kerry, I laughed uproariously.

How 'bout that ad with only Bush's voice talking about the economy. The camera is showing black and white footage of abandoned buildings and ghetto-like neighborhoods. In the end the camera finds an old "record player", the source of Bush's voice, I guess. It's really wierd.

But I want to tell you what I heard on Hannity and Colmes tonight. Bob Beckel was on defending Kerry.

He actually said, "Independent voters are TIRED of hearing about 9/11". That's so sad on so many levels. God help us.

I guess I didn't aim my ire specifically at Bob Beckel because of what his comment said between the lines. They've been discussing this, dissecting polls for pulse points. One thing they've evidently discerned is that some segment of the independent (read politically illiterate) vote yearns for "normalcy". In their self delusion they think we can wave a wand and it will be 9/10 again. And the Dems are going to play to that.

But there are two even worse strategies coming before the Nov. election which are going to drive us absolutely batty. One will come the day KIA's in Iraq hit the 1,000 mark. It's going to be just like Abu Graib...comfort to America's enemies all over the airwaves.

The second nauseating event will be Clinton's resurrection, rising from his hospital bed in late October to obliterate everything else going on in the campaign. The media will talk about the "Comeback Kid" and will treat it like the Second Coming. We'll need our XXX-Large buckets for that one.

More Demorat projection. They're the ones who are tired of hearing about 9/11, because it so clearly illustrated the contrast between the Clinton/Kerry do-nothing approach to terrorism and Bush's determined, muscular response. Assuming there really are such creatures as independent voters, they should appreciate any information that would help them make an informed decision. The true Democrat agenda is to tell people to turn their minds off and just vote Democrat because we know what's best for you.

Because of television's imminent revelations, the publisher is trying to hustle things, which, at this point, doesn't seem do-able.

A fanatic vegan who kidnapped his 14-month-old son in Brooklyn is hiding in the woods - and vowing to kill the boy if cops come after him, his mother-in-law said yesterday.

Screaming that the toddler was not eating healthy food, Raphael Spindell, 34, snatched little Andre from his maternal grandmother in Coney Island Saturday and has been missing with the boy and the child's mother since. Spindell, who calls himself Archangel and lists his occupation as "radical environmentalist" in an Internet profile, called the grandmother, Zoya Watterson, 54, later Saturday. "He said they were in the forest and he told me that if police tried to arrest him, he'd kill himself and the baby," Watterson said in her native Russian, breaking down in tears. In a subsequent call, Spindell claimed the baby and his mother no longer were with him, said Watterson.

Spindell lists "primitivism," "green anarchy" and animal rights among his hobbies.

Police said yesterday they were searching for the boy, though Spindell gave his mother-in-law no further hint about his whereabouts.

Spindell and his wife, Alexandra, 21, follow a strict vegan diet that excludes not only meat but any animal product, such as eggs and milk, Watterson said. The grandmother was granted custody of Andre in July, after the Administration for Children's Services found he was suffering from malnutrition, according to ACS spokeswoman Lisi deBourbon. "We confirmed reports of malnourishment and what we call failure to thrive" - meaning the boy was not being cared for properly, said deBourbon.

Spindell has a hair-trigger temper, according to his mother-in-law, who believes he needs psychiatric help. "He goes ballistic over little things," Watterson said. "He gets enraged when he sees ads for cigarettes or alcohol."

His rage was on display Saturday morning. Shortly after Alexandra arrived at her mother's W. Eighth St. apartment to deliver diapers and nurse Andre, Raphael began pounding on the door, Watterson said. "He started yelling and screaming that I'm a bad grandmother, that I don't do anything the way he wants it," she said.

Watterson said she was concerned about the toddler's diet. "It's laughable what they wanted to feed him," she said. "I slipped the baby some bread once in a while."

The couple, who live in a motor home and are often on the road, met at either a bar or a party for vegans six years ago, when Alexandra was a 15-year-old Lincoln High School student, said her mom.

"She's been brainwashed, and I told her that," said Watterson, who emigrated with her daughter from Moscow in 1995. "And she told me, 'Yes, my brain is clean and yours and everyone else's isn't.'"

But Watterson said the boy was better off with his parents than he was at the foster home he was placed in before she got custody. "He came back from foster care pale, traumatized, crying and shaking at night," she said. "Before that, he never cried. He was the happiest baby ever." link

We survived Frances! Once again we were very lucky, no damage to our home and the power came back on about 9 pm last night and we didn't have to wait an extra week for the cable, it's working too.

I see I have a lot of reading to catch up on... but I must get back to cleaning up the yard, so Ivan can come by and dump some more debris. *color me sweaty*
