She S;ould" be drivin' iffen she's in the car ...
(Robt grumps ...)
Nervous, nervous! 8<)
(After a while you'll (not) get over it ...Right, whyisa?)
Thank you kindly for the compliment, but my thong was not missing-it was exactly where it was meant to be worn...
We had a great time at dinner, but although the entree (shrimp) was good, the side dishes were as tasteless as ever-so much so that I bought an order of french fries to bring to Husky girl, which she enjoyed very much. That restaurant needs a new menu, new chef and a complete overhaul...
no, robt. not when we are in a hurry to get to Mass on time. I don't ever want her to be in the position of needing to hurry. Had we left in enough time for her to go the way that didn't require use of the 6 lane interstate to get there fast, she would have driven. this is only the 4th time she has been behind the wheel. we are not doing Route 66 anytime soon.
sounds beautiful! hope you had a great time!
Happy (belated) birthday T5. I am sure you were the loveliest woman in the restaurant for your B'day celebration.
The party was great Saturday, and sleeping in the tent was not all that bad, though I wish I had thought to bring a blanket - it was a bit windy and chilly.
The weather was so rotten yesterday that we had cancelled last night's band by noon. The wind was wicked and we started losing tarps by 10am. By 11:30 we had all tents down and all chairs and other possible projectiles stored away. Needless to say, I slept in my own bed in my own home last night.
Will be heading back there early this afternoon......there is still tons and tons of food leftover. But at least the sun is shining today, although it is still a bit on the windy side. yesterday afternoon was long pants and sweatshirt time!!!
i made belgian waffles for breakfast. i had mixed the stuff up yesterday AM and hadn't read far enough to see it needed to be refrigerated overnight. so i made regular waffles yesterday and refrigerated the belgians for today. Good thing xshub doesn't get this very often, bc he would end up porky! i try to make enough so i can freeze the leftovers for school breakfasts during the week, when i am already gone when they get up.xsbrownie eats the choc chip pancakes out from under me, so there are none left for school this week : ( she is an oinker.
it is a gloomy looking day, i am doing laundry and need to do the grocery shopping.
OK.
So, when you got it out of the dresser drawer this morning .... 8<)
Yes, ma'am!
Robt, eventually you get over EVERYTHING........lol.........
i agree with you that she needs TONS of experience behind the wheel, but we live in an incredibly urban area with A LOT of traffic, and interstate highways to get where we need to go, and i think that is a much different driving experience than what some others may face living in a smaller town or less populated area.
i will eventually be over her driving, but this is still very very very new. yesterday was the first time that she drove with more than one person in the car, and that is with the 3 of us being as silent as we could manage (me being more challenged than the others)
OH don't misunderstand me XS, I am still attempting to "get over" my child driving....... I was just using the term "eventually" with Robert...... ;^)
Your daughter will be able to drive anywhere after learning in Falls Church!
I learned to drive in rural Florida, but took drivers' ed in NYC..talk about culture shock. So I dfinitely understand what she is going through.
I had my drivers' license for 5 years before I ever really "used" it for anything other than ID. Oh and my first DL was from Florida, I could not pass the NYC road test because I had problems parallel parking....sigh.
My Father grew up in Connecticut and didn't know how to drive when he met my Mother......lol
All that's probably needed is to watch the cabbies for what NOT to do. I told my parents that it reminded me of my high school parking lot.
My response to back seat drivers....."You wanna walk?"
On another note, my dad taught me how to drive before driver's ed. My parent's live in a rural(although less so) area on a dirt road and I drove on the back roads there before driver's ed so I had a leg up when it started.
Although I got a trial by fire when I drove in Ann Arbor. That's not an easy place to drive(harder than Detroit IMO)
