My hamburger patties are ready to cook, and my salad is made, so all I've got to do at 6 or so is gather them up along with my apron and husband and trek up the road to grill for the party. Hubby went to Home Depot in Boerne right after lunch for some screws and paint-when he is gone this long on one errand, he usually arrives home with a bunch of stuff he couldn't resist...
oh you are gonna have so much to talk to dubs about bc he is a huge Browns fan. he is also volunteering for Bush and hasn't been around much lately, but he will be back. : )
i just had a wonderful hour long nap, to make up for my untimely rising this AM. i feel about 1000% better! xs2pup, xshub and i all snuggled up together : )
I was just reading something about Ketchup boy ranting about Bush "bamboozling" people because medicare costs are going up $11.00 a month-hell, our Military Tricare costs have gone up more than that, as we found out last year when we got the bills for our emergency room co-pay after that auto accident, and we don't even go to doctors or take prescription drugs. He's forgetting that bottom feeding trial lawyers like his running mate are mostly responsible for the increases in insurance costs to all of us. I think the poodle is starting to sound like a koolaid drinker and tinfoil wearer-crazier than a s***house rat, as I commented on that thread.
Now that I've got everything ready that I need to take to the party, and hubby stopped and bought beer on his way from Home Depot to take, I'm going to read and freep till I have to go get dressed, grab my stuff and head up to my neighbor's house.
my jewish coworker who is voting for W, his first ever republican vote this fall, told me that he "came out" politically to a cousin of his in FL this past summer when they were visiting. he said she has been active in Dem politics, been a delegate etc. and she was incredulous. she asked him why and he explained, etc. Turns out she loathes Edwards. Why? bc of the med malpractice stuff. her hub is an ob/gyn that had to leave the practice bc of the insurance. libs are so damn selfish and hypocritical.
You get that too?
I am impressed.
i am rolling my eyes at you...
Glad to be included. The others will be so jealous now.
Exactly-that trial lawyer I almost married actually tried to talk me into having two of my discs removed after an injury at work instead of of the more conservative approach of going to PT, work hardening etc. He just waxed eloquent about how much I could get if I would sue my employer instead of accepting workers comp as my sole remedy-wrong thing to say to a comp casemanager! I told him to go fall down himself and let someone remove HIS discs-never heard another word about it.
A new bar opened and everyone in town was talking about it. The buzz was because it had a robot-bartender. One fellow had to see this for himself, so in he goes and sits at the bar. Sure enough, a robot was bartending.
The man orders a drink, and the robot asks him what his IQ is. The man replies that his IQ is 150. With that, the robot begins discussing nuclear physics, hydrogen power cells, and the current state of the global atmosphere.
This fellow is impressed. He wants to see what happens if he doesn't claim to be quite as bright. So, he leaves the bar and comes right back and sits at the bar.
Again, the robot asks him for his IQ. This time the guy tells him it's 100. So the robot starts discussing football, basketball, and the proper way to grill a steak.
Wow, this is amazing and it piques the man's interest in seeing how good this robot really is. He leaves and comes back in for a third time. This time he tells the robot that his IQ is 50.
The robot replies: "So, are you Democrats really going to vote for Kerry?"
And actually, I like Sears. I mean, have you seen all the tools they have?
So do I except when sKerry uses it in a sentence. EWWWWW! He soiled my favorite tool box!
Hobby pointed out that, of course, this confimred Miss TeX5 was not clothed UNITL she headed out to her neighbor's house .....
I, being swerve and deboner, decided NOT to repeat his accusation in publick.....
Well, we know he took a movie camera and a typewriter with him to Viet Nam.
I think we should cut him a break. He might have been thinking about a shopping trip he took to uh, Camden.
Yeah, that's the ticket. He was in Camden, and it was Sears! Sears!!, in his memory...
Did you hear about the 300+ protesters at the last Kerry stop. Pro Life Catholics. They said it was a peaceful group but the biggest one yet of any type to turn out at one of his stops. I hope that trend continues. Now if we could only get them to vote Republican...
i love that our priests are giving sermons along those lines, i don't know if the Falls Church dimbulbs are getting the point though, as they are by and large libs. i would take on any Catholic who told me they were voting for Kerry.
Churches down here are playing a bit too close to the "save the (illegal) immigrants and whales" liberal party line for my tastes ...
But, then again, the Archbishops of GA, SC, and NC have explicitly said "no one is give Communion to ANY politician favoring abortion...."
i think St James may be the only one in our area. Though the Arlington diocese is relatively conservative, compared to Richmond and DC. we don't have altar girls, at least, thank the LORD. The two priests have given excellent sermons about how public officials cannot separate themselves and their opinions from the position. they are not naming names, but they are making an excellent case. I actually email the younger priest my kudos, figuring that everyone needs positive feedback and i want him to know that at least someone is getting it and applauds his efforts.
Out here where we are, the sermons are condeming abortion without apology of any kind in all the churches-I'm delighted to see that it is not just a local thing.
