Just reported by John Buchanan, former Presidential candidate, that anarchists last night told him that they were going to "shut down this convention and start WWIII tonight."

Funny, I was just thinking how bad the protest would prolly get tonight. Foolish donkeys. Karl Rove must be pinching himself every few minutes to see if he's not dreaming.

As Newt says, don't refer to them as protestors...call them "Kerry supporters".

C-SPAN lists Tommy Franks on the line-up at 8pm Eastern.

I'm bummed that he won't make the network coverage.

we definitely need a Guild convention!

How about in San Diego for the Buick Open in January? We can follow Stewart around and then all go to the Nixon and/or Reagan libraries...

HLL at MSG now, trying to get in, big crowd she says.

Portestors are thick. HLL says she's never seen that many of them at the MSG until tonight and was worried they might not get off the bus. But she is on her way in now.

How are you and your family doing? Is f-i-l coming to your place again or are you going there. I think if I lived in Fl, I might get on a plane to Vegas...

I'll be praying for you and yours!

Did anyone see Kerry's implosion-rally? Oh man. It was baaaaad. He's under so much pressure from his own party that he can't take any more down time. And WE know what a mistake that is. He'll be a fumbling idiot by the end of September.

Yeah, I watched some of Kerry's implosion rally. I could smell the desperation through the tellie.

About Effin's down time, such a smile came over my face when I heard what Rangel said about his skiing, windsurfing, etc... I have a feeling much of the black community that usually votes dem will stay home on election day.

Last night we heard that Kerry will be everywhere campaigning now. Yep, all Kerry, all the time. Just what his poll numbers need. heh heh heh!

I forgot all about Kerry's "Midnight Ride of Pepe LePew." We enjoyed watching the convention with other pubbies at MZ's party for the president, and it was so late by the time we got home, it didn't occur to me that anyone actually would carry Lurch's pathetic little counterrally. Gee, I hope he did that pansy thing he does with his fist. He'll be in our neck of the woods (again) on Saturday, but I won't be able to aggravate his followers this time, due to family obligations.

Kerry disses yet another veteran (from Cindy Adams):

John Kerry on Zell Miller's GOP keynoter: "OK, so they locked up the senior citizens' vote."

We went and picked up F-I-L yesterday and brought him back here, he enjoyed the first hurricane so much. ;-)

Even though Frances isn't coming from the Gulf we didn't want to chance leaving him at his house by himself.

Las Vegas sounds really good about now.

Don't shoot! We're French!

Actual Reuters caption:

U.S. Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry (D-MA) (R) and his running mate John Edwards (D-NC) wave to a crowd a late night rally in Springfield, Ohio, on September 2, 2004. Kerry hit back at Dick Cheney by raising the Republican's failure to serve in the Vietnam War and asking voters to weigh his two tours of duty against the vice president's five deferments. Kerry, a decorated Vietnam War veteran, bristled at Cheney's attack on his patriotism during the Republican National Convention in New York and his ability to serve as U.S. commander-in-chief.

Holy cow, when will this doofus start living in this century?

Navy Challenging Kerry's Medals

The United States Navy is challenging the authenticity of Sen. John Kerry's Vietnam War medals, in a development that could prove to be the most damaging yet to the embattled Democrat's presidential campaign.

A Navy spokesman is calling Kerry's Silver Star citation with Combat V "incorrect" as it appears on his campaign Web site, explaining in an interview with Chicago Sun-Times reporter Thomas Lipscomb that the Navy has never issued a Combat V at any time for the Silver Star.

The Navy also is questioning the listing on Kerry’s Web site of four bronze campaign stars for his service in Vietnam. The official naval record credits Kerry with just two Vietnam campaigns.

"That is sufficient for the wearing of the Vietnam Service Medal for one campaign bearing one campaign star for the additional campaign — not four," reports Lipscomb in today's New York Sun.

Kerry's campaign has repeatedly cited the Navy as the ultimate authority on the candidate's war record, saying the Navy wouldn't have awarded him medals he didn't deserve.

But with the Navy now publicly challenging Kerry's decorations, that defense has been rendered inoperative.

Noting that Kerry has refused to authorize the release of his full military records, the legal watchdog group Judicial Watch called on Kerry this week to remove any questionable citations from his Web site pending a formal investigation by the Navy.

"It is to your best interest to have your record in good order," Gen. Thomas Wilkerson, the president of the U.S. Naval Institute, told Lipscomb. "If it is wrong, you are accountable. And if you use it to advance your career, it is even more important.”
