Well, you're pretty new to FR and since your statements seem genuine about your dislike for Kerry, so I will give you a little pass. However, your statement "Voters less than 55 years old have no idea of the havoc and death caused by the two Hanoi's" is totally wrong.

I am a 32 year old American who has read the testimony of Hanio John and that's about all I need to see. Then I watched him (through the clips that have been playing) and that was really all I need to know who this traitor is. But, let me share something more poignant., and it isn't even my story. I have several friends of mine whose dad's never returned from Vietnam. They were KIA or some POW/MIA. These young men (many of whom are my age and a little older) are a wreck right now and they attribute much of this directly to John Kerry.

Specifically, I have a local friend who really is not fond of John Kerry at all. His mother...she hates him. And, I mean hate in the biblical sense, which is quite a commentary because she is a devote Christian who know that hate doesn't get you anything in life. It has really been a tough time for both of them since John Kerry has been parading around like a hero, when they know that he is anything but a hero.

In fact, my friend's mother thinks that Kerry is the reason why her husband is not with them and she is not afraid to say it. Her thought is that the anti-war movement wasn't having any real effect on the public, until the vets got involved. She feels that Kerry's (and Ron Kubic and others) involvement was the turning point and that was when the anti-war movement gained a real voice and started to move opinion. As far as Kerry's testimony and accussations, this women will never forgive him for that. She commented to me, "God can forgive him, but I damn him to hell and I have to ask God to forgive me for that." (and I don't recall this woman cursing, in any manner, ever).

Some may think she's right (I do) or some may think she's wrong (most of the libertards), but that's real sentiment and Kerry is dredging all of that up again by focusing on his Vietnam service.

I feel especially bad for my friend, because he never knew his father and the effects of this are usually devastating. Notwithstanding that, he is a remarkable person and holds his father with the honor and distinction that he deserves. He honored his father's memory by serving for 4 years in the Army and has gone on to complete college and a master's degree. He has a great job, a wonderful wife, and a 1-year boy (not surprisingly, named after his father).

I'm pretty sure that everyday his father comes to his mind, though he never says anything about it. I'm certain that as a young father (as I have been twice over), he would love to get advice from his (as I did and others do). He can't do that. I'm sure that this would have been difficult for some time and he would eventually cope, just as he has done his whole life. But, I really feel for him over the next couple of months. Everytime Kerry is on TV, the radio, etc., he is reminded of his father and how John Kerry disparaged and disgraced his father's memory. I can't imagine what that's like. And while we had talked politics fairly frequently (mostly general stuff), he has been somewhat mum as of late. It's not a wonder why, so I don't push him on it. I know the pain is there and I don't need to dredge that up for him....he's my friend and he's hurtin.

His anguish is real too. Kerry and his cadre of pals can pretend that what he did when he returned from the war didn't happen.

Something about seeds and sowing, eh?. Reap, John. Reap.

So, when you say that anyone under 55 can't understand or doesn't "know" who Kerry is...that's simply a very bad assumption.

It's also useful as a torture device.
Add Creamora or Coffeemate to it in guaranteed lethal dosage and force the victim to drink it.
Then watch as they get really hyper, buzzed, inattentive, and hallucinate.
Then question said victim.

To: Tannerone; All
Okay, everyone, before running off to light this guy up, I'd suggest that he may have a point. (Albiet a very badly made one).

I'm in the military. Most of my co workers are either pro Bush conservative or apolitical, although there are a handful of liberals and anti-Bush Buchananites.

Most of us where I work are mid twenties to mid thirties. With the exception of our resident history buff and myself, no one had ever heard of Kerry's post Vietnam shennanigans prior to this election. To them he was just another politician. After a week or two of emails over Kerry's record, people despise him far more than Clinton ever was, and that's saying something. In fact, they're shocked that this guy has made it so far in life after what he did.

So, flame away, but I think the poster may have somewhat of a point. I also think that as the word spreads among the younger crowd, who honestly don't understand the context of 1972, Kerry's credibility will tank. As much damage as Kerry is taking over his service in Vietnam, his words from the VVAW will sound creepy and repulsive to young swing voters of 2004.

I'm 29, and heard about the backstabber before, when I was young(er).
Heard about Jane Fonda's activity as well.
The Hanoi Wundertwins should be tied to Mikey Moore after he's had an all night burrito fest and launched into orbit.
