We are supposed to have rain here through the weekend too. I am going to Meridian tomorrow to try for the bike ride with my friend again tomorrow but I'm not counting on it. Neither of us minds riding in the rain - but you know, for a pleasure ride - *why?*
The big event for this town is the annual Fourth of July parade. Uncle Lynn is the chairman of the organization committee and he's already thinking it may get canceled this year. *sigh* Kinda sad for a small town like this. There aren't any other holidays that we have a big town get-together like this. And there's always a big fireworks show out in the river bottom.
However, my favorite part of Fourth of July in Valley Mills is that after the parade there are tables and tables of homemade ice cream freezers all ready to eat!!! MMMmmm..... homemade ice cream!!! In every flavor under the sun!!! It is yummy and I always try to be at that end of the parade to get the good choices! :-)
Hmmmm....we gots Nana's ice cream freezer around her somewhere...
I planted me some cilantro tonite. ;-)

I like the peach... but sometimes I have peanut butter with chocolate! :-) Dunno if we'll get it this year if it keeps rainin'.

We stop at a produce stand on the way to the beach house to stock up on, well produce, for the week. They do ice cream smoothies with fresh peaches....mmmm....
Heh...I got a chuckle out of the "rattle okay" on the package.

Oh man!!! That sounds yummy! I will be taking a big bag of fresh peaches home with me from my Uncle Brent's house when I head back to WF. More preserves will be made! But, only after a generous amount of peaches are just eaten. :-)
