We're doing Lava Lava Island this year too. The Mrs. is playing "Sal the Survivor." Jr. is running lights.
How fun!
Where are y'all watching? MSNBC crapped out on me. But I got CSPAN to work. Is the FOX feed live yet?
Don't know about the live feeds.... watching it here on TV.
Well CSPAN seems to be working okay for me now.
We have a small group of engineers in Afghanistan, in fact they've been there almost since the beginning of the combat there. They're working with the Army and some of the Special Ops guys building some fun toys. A lot of the work has been on robots. Useful little dudes that can crawl into caves and such, carry cameras, and of course... the occasional shotgun or grenade launcher.
We've also developed some new kind of material that can be worn under heavy kevlar and such that seems to help keep the wearer cool in hot places.
My only role in this is to try to help them with connectivity issues... and they gots issues in spades. Currently it's all about trouble using certain secure web sites over their not-so-great direct-to-satellite internet connection. It's fun in a twisted sort of way. It's not every day that I get to make phone calls to Afghanistan.
I've got it at http://www.ejsmithweb.com/fr/allmedia_v2.asp?cf0A52005C=UlRQXE1KSlNNOmJheWVyMTqURfdwsfpmQpGls1C5V/+v
Maggie Thatcher's tribute...I'm losing it...
You know they say Maggie's ailing physically, but she looks pretty vigorous in that video clip. Thatcher for President in 2008! :)
She's still quite articulate.
~sob~
Live thread said Clinton was sleeping...
Well, it could... my friend (and recruiter) told me that when he was on his way home from his honeymoon a couple of months ago, on the last leg of the trip flying from Dallas to Austin, the captain came on the intercom to say that Air Force One was taking off from Waco (which is between Dallas and Austin) and their plane was going to have to clear the route. They had to fly out towards Amarillo (in the panhandle) for a while so that they wouldn't be in the same air corridor as AF1. Once AF1 had passed them they were able to turn back towards Austin.
that is what it looked like. hillary looked like she would rather be anywhere else. actually, she looked prety angry. wonder if she was wishing she could sleep too??
I wish the camera had not panned over to them. it ruined an otherwise perfect ceremony.
Yes, I had my pager set to make a particularly loud and obnoxious tone, to make sure it woke me up if it went off at 3:00 am (when the London office opened). Which it did, more than once. Even now, three years later, if I hear another pager go off that sounds like the one I used, I jump...
Typical Clinton.
I perfer it that way....then we don't have to listen to his mouth.
Congratulations! Hope you have a long and wonderful life together!
I thought Hillary looked she was gonna projectile vomit at any moment.
