I cannot imagine her singing a Barry White song, or a James Brown ditty.
I saw Rueben perform on the David Letterman show last winter, then the two of them talked and both David and Reuben seemed to be having a good time. Then they showed a picture of Rueben and his brother who is Reuben's bodyguard. They're both tall, and his brother is just muscular huge.
Lately I've been watching Colonial House on PBS.
Did you szee tonight's over the top PC...come to God, Colonial House?
They're not abiding by 17th Century living by skipping the Sabbath.
Most of them weren't abiding by 17th century anything!
And the new Indians were disgusting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is true. Colonial House is not as good as Pioneer House, in that alot of the 17th Century traditions are not being upheld. Although I have camped near the area where Pioneer House was filmed. LOL
I actually laughed and rolled my eyes when it was learned on the first show that all the members of the Colony got up around 9:30 or 10 in the morning! Nearly half a day of sunlight wasted!
Fantasia better win! She's the far far far better talent. :-)
I can see Diana eventually being picked up by a country label tho'.
The "text messagers" worry me. I happen to end up at Crabtree Mall this past Christmas on "Clay Aiken Day." (Taking a grandson to see Santa, honest!)
Thousands of little pre-teen girls with their cellphones!
Eeek!
Doesn't it cost something to text message? I imagine many well-intentioned parents across the nation are unknowingly racking up cell phone fees tonight. :-)
I think you get so many a month, but honestly I do not know. It's a big deal to them though; I see them doing it all the time.
Myself, I can't even see the TEENY TINY letters!
Is it just me, or did anyone actually like that "I Believe" song at the beginning and end?
I thought it was awful.
Simon thought Diana's faltering last performance was due to intimidation by Fantasia's "Summertime", but I think she looked like she'd been crying.... over Simon's comment that Fantasia is the best contestant *ever.* No pressure there!
Do you think if Diana actually wins, it might also reflect how receptive America is to a Bush win in November? Diana fans seem to love her qualities and character.
You are right. They never gave Fantasia preference over La Toya. Simon once called La Toya the best singer in the competition, which is VERY high praise. Simon enjoyed lumping them together. I can't think of ANY cases when La Toya received less praise than Fantasia after giving an equal or better performance.
As for Diana, I do think Simon was unfair tonight, diverting attention from the performances he liked from her with petty criticisms. Like the first song, he had problems with the lyrics, which were written for her. It was strange.
But he DID bash Fantasia's first performance, which was bad, when the other judges tried to flourish the quality. He called it a complete mess.
BTW, don't worry about the Fantasia haters. I've supported her from the beginning. I also like Diana, but I would've put Jennifer or La Toya in the final two over her, two other ladies who, like Fantasia, are talented enough to make a singing career without this show.
Other night on Millionaire. I believe the 10 G question was..."In the movie the Passion of the Christ it is spoken in Latin and __________".
Guy had no clue and even used his phone a friend.
Lucky for him that guy knew but he was gone on the next question....A Siamese cats eyes are which color.
A New Zealand woody?
Ruben who? :) They showed very poor judgment in pushing Ruben so heavily, and I think they're doing the same with Fantasia. Neither will ever be pop idols.. On the other hand, I can easily see Diana becoming a big hit with the tweeners.
I saw a program on the Idol contestants this year and a comment was made that the red haired 16 yr. old boy received death threats. That must be why he had those few after interviews and said only that he was relieved that it was over. What a sickening display of mean spiritedness. I'll keep my suspicions to myself.
The show has been accused of racism and ridiculous charges of votes not counting because they couldn't get thru. Ludicrous in the extreme.
This year there just wasn't much talent but really no excuse for the audience to boo Jasmine off the stage. The boorish comments of Simon are wearing thin.
Rant over!
My guess is that his peers expect him to favor his race......or else!
Pathetic as he seems to be the racist in the crowd.
Sorry, the most recent black girl who was eliminated had more talent in her little finger than Fantasia. Her voice was more pure and versatile.
