Good morning, all! I hope everyone is doing well today!
The Sanctuary
by Sarah Teasdale
If I could keep my innermost Me
Fearless, aloof and free
Of the least breath of love or hate,
And not disconsolate
At the sick load of sorrow laid on men;
If I could keep a sanctuary there
Free even of prayer,
If I could do this, then,
With quiet candor as I grew more wise
I could look even at God with grave forgiving eyes.

If I could keep my innermost Me
Fearless, aloof and free
There have been times when I have longed to do just that. Sometimes it seems like it's so much easier on the shallow people to just float thru life with cares only for themselves. But in the end, I think they lose more by not ever having deep relationships. HUGS!

When the Planets Made Music
Elliptical paths
heaven's harmony
planets, moving
rotating, spinning,
whirling, singing,
sighing...songs
Planets Choir
Songs of the planets
wondrous music
heard by ancients
under star filled nights

Sonnet
Andromeda Sonnet sweet
let my Muse be free
I cannot be chained in thought
nor actions curtailed by thee
spirit roars when held
tethered in thistle down
loves bloom unfree to roam
not call this planet earth my home
heavens vast space ere farwide
beset by ships a sail high tide
my bonny lad lives there with me
we flit about aimlessly we two are one
our dream is true our time is come
timeless time we have just begun...
starlite nites astral delights
Andromeda, ambrosia, Herculean win...

Love's Lantern
by Joyce Kilmer
(For Aline)
Because the road was steep and long
And through a dark and lonely land,
God set upon my lips a song
And put a lantern in my hand.
Through miles on weary miles of night
That stretch relentless in my way
My lantern burns serene and white,
An unexhausted cup of day.
O golden lights and lights like wine,
How dim your boasted splendors are.
Behold this little lamp of mine;
It is more starlike than a star!

J. E. Ball (fl. 1904-1906)
The Violin
The Violin, all good musicians say,
While yet in babyhood you must begin;
And so, beneath my little rounded chin,
'Twas promptly tucked, and I began to play
No ear had I, or skill; but Discipline
Recked not of that; and so I sawed away,
And rent the air with Purgatorial din;
Pondering the while, profoundly, day by day,
Of dark recesses, secret nooks, wherein
I might (with Providential aid) mislay
