I've been busy the last few days and lax in posting. Hopefully things will let up soon. I miss it when I can't hang around a little and have fun with all of you.

Good Morning, Lovely One.

I'm glad you liked "Moon Mist".

I think I should start saving mine, shouldn't I?

Good morning Sarge.

I have been thinking that for some time now, yes, your work should be saved.

ALONE AND FAR REMOVED

Alone and far removed from earthly care
The noble ruins of men lie buried here.
You were strong men, good men
Endowed with youth and much the will to live
I hear no protest from the mute lips of the dead.
They rest; there is no more to give.

So long my comrades,
Sleep ye where you fell upon the field.
But tread softly please
March o'er my heart with ease
March on and on,
But to God alone we kneel.

. . . Audie Murphy

Godmothers Aren't Fairies in a Tale

Godmothers aren't fairies in a tale,
Offering a world that cannot be.
Demand of them glass slippers and they fail,
More likely to do favors naturally.
On them you can depend for a relation:
They offer gifts and guidance with a kiss.
Having taken on the obligation,
Each freely out of love gives what she is.
Real godmothers have no wands or wings,
So they must work with wisdom, love, and things.

"I think I should start saving mine, shouldn't I?"

How can you not? You compose them in a word processing program, don't you?

Just save with the poem title as file title.

I'm thinking there probably should be a better way to keep poems organized, so that you can retrieve them by date, or title, or first line, et cetera. But I save mine. The program nags me if I don't.

It has been my experience writing on line can get a little hectic at times. We get caught up in a dizzy of responding to posts, etc. I have often times not saved my work off line and have lost some stuff forever.

Not necessarily.

Go to the my comments section, and start tracking backward. It will, at the bottom, reference "show older posts" just keep going.

It's surprising what a long trail you can follow.

True, but not if the threads have been pulled. They are gone forever. Trust me I know.
