That's not as bad as the dream I had the other night. Well...with a lead-in like that, aren't you obligated to fill us in on it now??!!

My mother used a flyswatter on palmetto bugs ... or the heel of her shoe. She liked to hear them pop.
<shudder>Have I mentioned how utterly ruthless my mother could be?

I don't like to hear them pop, but I do prefer them stone-dead!
And Bear, did the dream involve roaches or sharks of any kind?

No it didn't... it involved driving off of a slippery road in the dark and into Lake Superior. I woke up as the cold water filling the car was coming up to my chin... and I couldn't get out of the car.

After catching a lot of flies and ladybugs in my house last fall (fortunately since then I've managed to keep them out), I have to admit there's a certain satisfaction in hearing/feeling them pop. It kind of reminds me of popping those plastic curly-q's that they use to stuff packages for mailing.

That's a scary dream! Did you notice anything when you woke up that could have triggered it? Sometimes if my cover comes off or something I have dreams about being in cold water, or if I turn into a weird position so my arm is stuck under my body and I can't roll over any more that can make me dream about being trapped.

It's a type of nightmare I have every now and then. I think the reasons are more psychological than physical...

I've had some psychologically-triggered ones, too. My usual one when I'm really stressed out is that I'm being chased by either sharks or vampires. The shark ones involve skimming over/falling into water, whereas the vampire ones involve flying.

From dreammoods.com...
To dream of a car accident, symbolizes your emotional state. You may be harboring deep anxieties and fears. Are you "driving" yourself too hard? This dream may tell you to slow down before you hit disaster. You need to rethink or re-plan your course of actions and set yourself on a better path.
To dream that you are caught in a trap, denotes that you feel confined and restricted in a job, career, health, or a personal relationship. It may also mean that you will be outwitted by your rivals.
To dream that you are drowning, signifies that you are overwhelmed by emotions or repressed issues that is coming back to haunt you. You may be proceeding too quickly in trying to discover your unconscious thoughts and therefore must proceed more cautiously and slowly. If you drown to death, then is refers to an emotional rebirth. If your survive the drowning, then a waking relationship or situation will ultimately survive the turmoil.
I think it safe to say that maybe you're a bit stressed out, Bear. Take it easy and remember we love ya!

To see a shark in your dream, represents a person whom you see as greedy and unscrupulous. This person goes after what what he or she wants with no regards to the well-being and sensitivity of others. The shark may also be an aspect of your own personality which exhibit these qualities. Alternatively, you may be going through a difficult, painful, or unpleasant emotional period. The shark symbolizes feelings of anger, hostility, and fierceness. You may be an emotional threat to yourself or to others.
Just let us know when the shark dreams come around, OK? *smile*

Yowsers... ya got anything on the "being crushed by a giant block of stone" dream? Or the "realizing too late that you jumped outta the plane without a parachute" dream?
I mean... as long as we're sharing our collective neuroses... :-)

Oh, Ruthy, do mine, do mine!
I have the "I'm sitting in the back of the classroom naked" dream. The bell rings, and everyone heads out of the class without ever noticing me. What does that one mean?
