I'm excited for you! You're diet sucess is inspiration for me- I need to get back on the wagon.

I'm not a success yet! Still have a long ways to go...I weigh in tomorrow to see just HOW far, but something along the lines of twenty pounds, which STILL won't be allll the way down to my pre-enlistment days, but close enough, especially as I'm older now.

Tomorrow I'm starting the second phase of the diet, which means I can have fruit (most fruits, anyway...I'm sticking with berries and melon for now) and whole grains. Hopefully I'll keep losing weight, albeit slowly. I'm prepared for slow...just don't want to stop entirely.

Thanks for the report! Sounds neat!--I've always been fascinated with caves since reading about Tom Sawyer getting lost in the Mammoth Caves :) The Space Museum and White Sands monument sound cool, too!

Picked up a copy of Master and Commander the other night, watched it. Good movie, IMO.

We watched it last night. I thought it was well done, and it's refreshing that the age of PCifying movies by adding female characters or sticking people of different races in places where they wouldn't have been just to make it "right" seems to be ending.

Too many long fight scenes for me, I admit, though. I found my interest wandering. But I could still admire it as a well made, well acted film - and my brothers loved it.

Wow!--awesome! :) And nice you can have fruit and whole grains again! Does that mean you can eat homemade bread?--that's what I'd probably do :)

Speaking of which, got to go finish my own workout here--started this morning and took a break to dust my computer which badly needed it. Be back in a bit!

Heh...the twenty pounds number wasn't what I've lost...it's what I have left to lose.

But I'll be able to say that sometime, which is good.

Yeah, I can have homemade bread, as long as it's whole grain. I'll probably wait a week to see how adding certain other things back goes, but I'm looking forward to having some in the not too distant future!

So far, I've just picked from the herb list. Gonna get some flowers (don't know what kind yet) and some more tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant....just in case.

Yeah, mostly it was the herbs I was looking at. But, also Bee Balm. I would like some of that. Wish we had a place like that near enough for me... but I have to go a long ways to get to the nearest place with a good selection.

However, if you ever come down here there is an herb farm about 90 miles south of me. If you were here for a few days we could drive down there. I love just going and "window shopping!" But, of course I always come home with stuff too!

Bee balm....scribble, scribble. Maybe some ferns would be nice but maybe my patio is too bright for it? I'm planning on moving some of my housplants outside eventually. Ferns would go well with a patio fountain.

Yeah, they would! When I have tried with ferns the Texas heat and dryness always does them in toward July. They never make it through the summer for me. There would have to be some kind of fountain near them for me too.
