Beats me! I wanna know how the heck they think somebody's gonna decide ahead of time if a funnel's gonna hit the ground or not.
There was such an uproar last month that the rules for when the sirens sound were re-worked. Seems like to me they're making every effort to warn folks. One of those instances where you just can't win for losin' I guess.

We just ordered a pizza from Brewery City Pizza. Wonder if they are going to change their name to
Water Town Pizza.
Great.... Let us make ~water~. 40 jobs is almost as good as 400.

Sounds like an ideal job for a dwarf... being paid to make water.
Heck, I wouldn't mind having that job myself...

What the hey?
Dang... I wish somebody like RedHook would buy them out.

And Ladybugs eat Aphids.... people actually like them and bring them ~in~ to the garden!I guess you weren't around for my "Why I hate ladybugs" thread a few days ago :) They're the worst insect nuisance in this area because an Asian species called the Asian Ladybird Beetle was artificially introduced to control aphids and got completely out of control:
Introduced Species Summary Project: Asian Ladybird Beetle: Harmonia axyridis (Pallas)
Threat(s): Asian Ladybird Beetles are anecdotally suspected to be responsible for a decrease in the numbers of native beneficial insects through predation and by elimination of scarce prey, although this has not been scientifically proven. On a lesser threat level, the beetles seek shelter for overwintering, and when a location is found, they emit an "aggregating pheromone" to attract other beetles. Often, they choose a human home and gather in the dozens, hundreds or thousands. They remain in that location through the winter, annoying humans with their numbers, smell, and biting. The yellow, odorous defensive compound may also stain furniture, carpets and draperies.

When I first read the headline, I unfairly (this time) fumed at the city since they had run Miller out of town with extortion about their wastewater. I thought "Oh - they will let us make ~water~ there, maybe that's clean enough!" But it wasn't. Miller wouldn't sell to a brewer. They had to agree not to make beer on the property, or sell any part of it to a brewer. the bastages. They killed any chance at a good number of jobs coming back.
The water bottler will probably keep the bottling plant, which is all in that property called "warehouse", and sell/give the main brewery, the historic brewery, the Schmidt mansion and the lodge to Tumwater parks. They might try to sell the brewery building to someone as office space, but Tumwater wants it bad enough to make life impossible.

So... if you have an infestation of elephants... you just have to bring in a bunch of tigers.
Simple, really. :-)

OOOOHHHH... the bastidges.
I suppose it was the OLYMPIA brewing activities over the last HUNDRED years or so that caused the 'wild' salmon issues in the Deschutes river for the, what... last decade or so?
ooohhhh... I'm angry at this.

So... if you have an infestation of elephants... you just have to bring in a bunch of tigers. That's what I tried to do, but the DNR wouldn't let me--Greenpeace filed complaints that tigers were an endangered species. So I had to settle for lions instead. This did cut down the elephant population somewhat; however, rhinos, hippos, and ladybugs remain problematic. Do you think rebooting from my Norton Antivirus disk will help with this? :)

As we both know, there are no real salmon issues at the Deschutes.... They hit quota at the hatchery in a few days and just let the rest die, there are so many returning fish....

You need to get a Badger... and then slowly open the cabinet of your computer...
