Everything is already pretty green here! No leaves, but grass everywhere it isn't always shady. My lawn is the exception. *sigh*
We're supposed to get cold again later this week, though. In the twenties Friday night. Goody...

Another reason for me to be PO'd at the Dems...they promised me if I voted Republican I'd get global warming. So far, no good.

I could use at least ten or fifteen degrees of it right now. It's only 40.

Yer mint is doing fine.
To: RosieCotton
It's cooled down to the 60's for today. :)
To: Overtaxed; Wneighbor
My WN mint hasn't come up yet...but it's early days yet. I'm still hopeful.

hehehe.... it is still morning here - barely. :-)
Almost everything in my classroom went down on me this morning! LOL,,,, students loved it. We had one hour of class and I told 'em they could go. No internet, couldn't print. 2 computers got some virus that the virus protection didn't catch. I had their assignment on my computer ready to print and hand out to 'em, I couldn't print that....
I figured it was a sign from God that we should all be outside playing. It's sunny and in the 70's! :-)

It's amazing how hardy that mint is huh? I've got it taking over the areas that I put it... which was exactly my intention! But, I started with just 4 little sprigs in 4 different areas - and they've almost covered about 20 square feet. :-)

I bet your mint is coming. When it gets enough warmth it'll be there!

I need ideas. I got this great extra money class that I can teach for one week in the summer. The college has a kid's "summer camp" thingy. I've never participated before but they asked me if I'd teach a computer class of some kind for the kids. And they said whatever software I want to teach is up to me.
And, nobody has any criteria, they just want me to make it computer for kids ages 9 - 14. Okay, I'm thinkin' just go ahead with some CADD stuff. Cause to me, CADD is awesomely fun. But, do ya'll think that would be any fun for kids that age?
Ummm... It's only for 3 hours for 4 days. So, 12 hours total.
Or should I pick some other program? We could play cards. :-)
Don't quite think they're old enough that I should introduce 'em to backgammon.

I know next to nothing about CADD...but we DID like playing with the kinda sorta 3D drawing program Dad had...back when I was in that age span.
But I guess it depends on how complex it is. If it's a lot of tough math, it probably wouldn't appeal to 'em.
Dunno if there are other appealing programs, though! Everything to do with computers was brand new when I was that age, so something like writing letters in Word with different fonts and colors and clip art would have seemed WONDERFUL. Sad in a way, I guess. ;-)

I'll ask Luke what program he's running most these days...
I need a name for my business. I don't think "BuyMyCrap.com" will really sell stuff...

I was gonna leave out math. I figured just some basic draw and edit commands and how to apply colors or materials to things would be fun. Find some simple things to draw. But, some kids who aren't into drawing also might not like that.
Maybe since it's 4 day for 3 hours a day I might could do a little something in a different program each day. So, it would be a touch of a lot of stuff. That might work.
I'm going to make notes of all the feedback I get here. Clipart, colors, fonts in Word would be really fun it seems to me too.
Maybe Photoshop for something too. That might be fun for 'em.
