Good night, Jen!
I'm going to finish up making tomorrow's lunch, read for a bit, and then try to get some sleep so I don't oversleep again.
Good night, all!

Nice grips; I was partial to the Colt DS, with Pachmyers. Was a bit harder to qualify with than my SW 66 or Colt Trooper. I opted for Colt DS simply because it held six rounds. The SW 60 is on my want list, though. :-)

Well, I had two cases of good news/bad news today.
First, the bad news was that I had to buy 2 new tires. The good news was that it only cost me $142 and some change. My second case was that the bad news was my tooth broke, again. The good news is that PE's insurance will cover it.
It feels weird, but I don't have a dentist yet, and the insurance osn't in effect till next week, so I have to live with it until then. This may be TMI, but the tooth is half gone, but the filling is still there and secure. Odd. Other news on that front, the tooth is probably already dead, so I don't feel any real pain. Not decided yet on whether that is good or bad news.
I think this means that I am going to be eating soup, grits, or mashed taters for a bit until this gets taken care of. Hmm...

Night Jen...
only 150 books? Yer' slippin'. :-)
Yikes. I think I've only read maybe six books in the last year, and most of those happened when I went on that vacation week to the lake where the lodge had no internet, phones or TV.
But don't underestimate the value of things you can read on the underside of tables in seedy bars in foreign places. If nothing else... it makes for good story telling, later. :-)

I am really tired tonight. Gonna turn in early in the hopes that I will not oversleep in the morning. elf-boy has his surgery tomorrow at the crack of dawn, er.. crack of doom.
Seriesly though, we have received no fewer than 4 phone calls from the doctor's office, each from a diferent person, and each on a different topic concerning tomorrow's procedure. They want us to feel comfortable and informed, I guess :-). Kinda cool that he is getting attention before the procedure takes place from all these docs.

Actually, the important part is that you can't remember the story. Plausible deniability, and all...

Like a scene out of a science-fiction movie, all it takes is a syringe-injected microchip implant for the beautiful men and women of the nightclub scene to breeze past a "reader" that recognizes their identity, credit balance and even automatically opens doors to exclusive areas of the club for them. They can buy drinks and food with a wave of their hand and don't need to worry about losing a credit card or wallet.

Yeah, but have you ever woke up under a table in a seedy bar in a foreign country and had *no* idea how you got there? Got to the bar, or got to the country? :)

Does somebody make one of those clips to fit a 1911?A little of googling with "1911 'belt clip'" got this for $10, and there are more out there.

Got to the bar, or got to the country? :) Both. :-)
I kinda remember how I got to the country, but only in frames. How I got to the bar is still a mystery, but it had something to do with [redacted by declassifier].
Yes, of course we're talking about Tijuana. That event actually places high on my list of "why I'll never go to Tijuana again". The only thing higher on the list was the crap I had to go through to get *back* from there. Yeesh. How that place qualifies as a country is still a mystery to me.

Another of "our" troops has arrived safely. I received a brief note from Lt Paul today.
Howdy to all, I am only to get to a computer sporadically currently, and it is a tenth the speed of a 56K dial up connection. My unit is doing as well as it can here. We arrived here without any major incindent. We are attached to the First Cavalry Division. My current address is:
