I heard recently that there's a movement to ban competitive sports now because some consider them detrimental to children's self-esteem. (shaking head in disbelief) Nothing kills "self esteem" like the reality of getting a job in the real world where they find out that they don't know Jack.
Nothing prepares you to be a winner in life better then learning what it is like to lose. The PC folk have ruined so many kids this way... by never letting them feel what it is like to lose they completely remove the desire to win.

You would have been labeled as having a dirty mind too. HA!
So, ya wanna hang out with a chick who has the same kinda dirty mind you do? :-)

What kind of bow are you using? I have only done a little target practice years and years ago with my dad. But, you oughtta talk to Osagebowman when he posts here. You and he can have some intense archery discussions.
G'nad bowhunts too... and I think Sam Cree. You are in good company here!
You must be an elf! :-)

I'm not into archery (yet)... but there are those around that are. You need to talk to Osagebowman and G'nad....
Pinging thereupon... Customer service on aisle 1 please...

I do have nicer equipment now...
My favorite now is a Ruger M77, laminated stock, in .270 with a Leupold 4X scope. It's almost too pretty to shoot with. :-) Somehow I overcome that, however...

Well said. Imagine that. I should drink like this more often. :-)
To: Ramius
On second thought... maybe you should bring your pretty equipment down to Texas and let me try it out!

That thought pattern is a problem. You need to take care of that! LOL But it is DANG pretty. Gorgeous laminated and stained stock... Perfect bluing... a Scope that belongs in an art gallery, not out in the woods getting rained on...
Seems a shame to get burnt powder all over it. Somehow I overcome this though. :-)

Or maybe there needs to be an all-shoot sometime during wedding-moot????

I had a picture taken of me with my bow in my elven-looking hooded sweatshirt over Christmas, LOL! I'm just getting into it, so I started off with a very basic compound bow with a very light pull that I practiced with in autumn. As a Christmas gift I got a slightly fancier compound bow with a 30-pound pull and pin sights. I'm trying to improve my accuracy before moving up to something with more pull on it that I'd actually use for hunting. I'd like to eventually get a long bow, too--I'm interested in medieval military technology and would like to learn that.

Somehow I overcome this though. :-)Trust me. I can help you with this. :-)

There are some bowhunters that I wouldn't wish to be with out in the woods. There are many bad bowhunters out there. But that's not true of any of the folk here.
There's good advice to be had here, and these are the people that are worth listening to on the matter.
