So YOU'RE the one in control! So maybe you can explain why we're having flipping Christmas again, it seems like we just had one last year...

What's most pathetic is that the guy for whom they're doing all this is nothing but a squatty, no-neck, sawed-off twit who sounds like Elmer Fudd's evil twin.
When my dad and I were in a synagogue last weekend for the performance of the IDF ensemble, I looked around the congregation and said to him that we were just about the only ones who will vote for Bush (the only [sometimes halfway] decent friend to Israel), and that these people -- who'd spent more than a little money to come out on a snowy afternoon/evening to support Israel -- would sooner vote for Howeird Dean, a creep who has been trashing Israel.
Your husband is one of the fortunate few who actually grew up; most do not. And that kind of hysterical idealism doesn't age very well.

yes, Happy Hannukah to you! xsbrownie had her first Hannukah meal at school this week. She goes to a private Christian school, but one of her two teachers is Jewish and they learned to play the dreidel game and ate latkes. Which made me terribly Jealous, bc i love potato pancakes, they were a staple Eastern European food in our house growing up. i had no idea Jews ate them too, til i got to college!

You want I should have named him Godiva instead? "You want I should have"??? WTF? When did you morph into my grandmother?! Were you, in a previous life, an elderly Jewish woman from the Lower East Side or Brooklyn?
What about a more masculine name for the poor, put-upon homodog?
Psst! Happy Hanukkah!
Thanks. CPAC is my Hanukkah present this year. :)

HAH! I'm in an apartment: no chimney, Einstein! And now I suppose you're going to tell me there'll be yet another Christmas NEXT year...
Oh, well, maybe there's SOMETHING to look forward to. Maybe I'll get hit by a meteorite or maybe a house containing a little girl and a dog will miss Hillary after she runs and steals the election and fall on me instead...

Actually, when I lived out in the 'burbs, my dad and I were convinced that we were just about the only Jews who are conservative Republicans. It was only when I moved back to the city that I found myself surrounded by quite a few.

Thanks. :) Yep, dreidels and potato latkes are 2 of the best parts of Hanukkah -- that, and the 8 days of presents. LOL!
Actually, in the grand scheme of things, Hanukkah is a fairly minor holiday, but gets the build-up and publicity that it does because it usually happens so close to Christmas.

from stomping New Hampshire for MO to a rightwing bombthrowing Conservative now. you will find no more eloquent spokesman for the Right, than xshub. and he is that much more able to articulate the arguments for having made the opposing arguments in his youth. there is quite a bit to be said for having morphed from Lib to Conservative, it makes you that much stronger for knowing exactly how/what they think, and able to address it more effectively. i would put xshub up rather than any conservative pundit on TV today against the most obnoxious lib. he could take them.

Probably the same way he gets into Whyisa's house, he's welcomed in the back door (pardon the expression!) by the lady of the house with open
legs arms...

i was aware of that. one of my best friends at work is a Brooklynborn fairly liberal Jew. But i got him to subscribe to the Washington Times, and we can civilly discuss politics. he also supported the war in Iraq, while his wife is virulently opposed.
