A friend of mine got a radar detector for Christmas that also detects laser. Apparently it also alerts him to traffic jams ahead, so he can take an alternate route.

I suppose it has GPS in it too, as well as some kind of radio transceiver.

I don't think it matters whether you've "brought any of this on yourself." IMO, there is no place in scouting for the kind of bitchy behavior that you seem to be describing on the part of the den mother or den bitch or whoever that lady is.

There are ways to exert discipline or run a tight ship, or whatever, with repect for the kids or the crew. It's part of what scouting is all about. I think.

Well, that's kinda what we thought too, when we got in to it.

I dunno...there is fault on both sides, but I did apologize. If you recall, I felt terrible that we missed that bear carving day. I felt terrible for Matthew's sake, because he would have loved it. I sure didn't need any more guilt heaped on me!

We tried to make it up. We're Christians...we don't ask for things we don't deserve. We don't lie about things that we didn't do (thus Matthew promptly admited Steve had helped him, knowing no wrongdoing had been done.) To be accused of underhandedness by someone who is supposed to be a fellow Christian just burns me up. (Letting off steam here...)

Don't say that 2J. Sometimes we carry responsibility so far it gives others a tool to use against us. Not everyone is as honorable as you. This lady is taking advantage of your honor and demonstrating unacceptable behavior. Certainly it takes finesse to handle situations like that. And now might not be the time to address it. But, it does need to be addressed. I kinda agree with you that maybe this one is for Steve to take up. If he will.
