Can someone do me a favor. I am about to burst into tears.

I have a collection of 80 family digital pics saved on my computer. Yesterday, I downloaded Paint Shop for a trial and played around with my pics. Well, either I totally messed up all my pictures or my printer is acting up. I don't know which it is.

Can I e-mail a couple of pics to one of you. I am hoping you can print them out and tell me if they look alright or not. And feel free to post them, as I am very proud of my three grandbabies.

Good job AB's...on a sad note, the US failed to make it to the Olypmics in baseball. Mexico whacked us.

Oh, I hope they can. I don't mean for them to give me their personal e-mail address. I was just hoping someone had one of those hot mail addresses or such. Or, on another thought, can one upload pics to Freepmail addresses?

I've called my daughter and some friends...and no one is home this afternoon. Grrrrrrr

I could just shoot myself for fooling around with my precious pics with a new picture publisher.

Babe.. what is the problem exactly? You seem to have played with some pics.. and changed them.. Unless you deleted the originals, no harm no foul..

You can play with them all you like..and not lose them..

Explain, and I will see if I can help you, even tho I am so brain-dead with this cold.. ;)

I will put on my telephoto lense and see if I can catch any of the eclipse.. It's not too powerful tho. Right now it clear with nice puffy florida clouds.. Hope it stays that way...

Well, they are still stored on my computer. But, when I played with them on my trial Paint Shop download, I used the auto brightness and contrast option. They looked great on the screen, but when I printed them out, they looked terrible. And I can't think of how to get them back to the origional pics.

I'm not crying yet, but I am coming close to it. You see, every year I make a book for each of my three grand children for Christmas. I tell of their life during the year, accompanied by photos. If I may brag on myself, they love them.

And now, I fear all is lost.

I don't have a printer either Babe..sorry. If you send them to me I can look at them..but the original should still be there.. Just consider these you worked on throw-aways.

You have to set up your printer and monitor to more or less the same color settings..otherwise they will not look the same on both..

That takes a little learning.. but there should be directions on how to do both.. Check your monitor book.. and your printer book or help files..

Oh grannie, sorry you are feeling bad.

My problem is that I stored a year's worth of digital pics on my computer just as they were uploaded from my camera.

Well, when I was ready to crop and lighten or darken, I decided to try a new picture publisher. I downloaded Paint Shop for a trial. I then proceeded to use it's auto option for brightness and contrast. It looked great on the screen, but printed out terrible.

I don't know if I have printer problems or if I have corrupted all my pics.

No..unless you deleted original pics, you don't have a problem.. My ghod I do the same pic ten times.. I doesn't hurt anything.. Don't use the auto on any software, it usually sux..

Try bringing up the same original pics again.. and take notice how they look when you do them by hand, compared to the last ones.

You know, they might print out perfect without touching them at all. Digital pics are pretty damned good on their own.

Try printing an original, just how you got it.. and see what it looks like.. If it looks good.. then you can go back and frame it or whatever, but just leave the pics exposure and sharpness like it was.. Trial and error.. Make small prints so you don't use up all your ink.. and do look for adjustments on your monitor and printer.
