Interesting list. I don't see Specter losing here in PA assuming he runs. He's quite popular and even though I don't agree with him on some issues, he appeals to suburban voters with his more moderate views. However, if he retires, I'm afraid things could get interesting. The PA Dems could recruit someone from the Casey Wing in the party. PA doesn't elect Liberal Democrats to the Senate, but a Dem who's Pro-Life and Pro-Gun would make an open seat contest challenging.
As of today, the sitting Dems look more vulnerable. I agree Illinois appears to be our stiffest challenge, with the open seat in Alaska next. McCain's and Campbell's seats will be safe as long as they don't retire.
On the other side, the Holling's seat is a realistic pick-up, especially if his rumored retirement comes to fruition. Dorgan, Murray, and Reid can be defeated, as can Miller, Graham, Edwards, and even Daschle, but we'll need to recruit some really marketable candidates to do so.
Forget about Arnold and the Senate. His heart is set on governor, and quite frankly, he'd be foolish not to make a run in four years.
On to Schumer. Pataki's 3rd term as governor might be his last. Does anyone else see him as a viable candidate, as sitting governor, to take out Schumer?

Pataki's 3rd term convenietly expires when Hitlery is up for re-election in 2006. If we play our cards right we can have Guiliani in 2004 and Pataki in 2006.
