Matt Dunlap, the Democrat rival to Paul LePage in the race for CD-2 Maine has conceded. Paul is ahead by over 5000 votes. Even with rank choice voting, Dunlap noted he cannot overtake that lead. I must say I am confused. How does rank choice voting work with only two candidates.
CONGRATULATIONS CONGRESSMAN-ELECT PAUL LEPAGE! :)

Some good news for a change.
Yes indeed! I believe Congressman-Elect LePage is the only Republican Representative or Senator in Congress from New England.
He’s one of the good ones.
Yes he is. A solid conservative and still going strong in his mid 70’s. I hope to be able to vote for him for at least two more election cycles.
Was this seat a red pickup? If so, was it the only red pickup in the country (other than Guam) ?
No. There were 3 or 4 others. RealClearPolitics.com lists Democrat and Republican pickups.
Yes this was a red pickup. Good catch! The incumbent Congressman, Jared Golden did not run for re-election. Golden was a Democrat.
Matt Dunlap, the Rat nominee is fairly far left. I am not sure if he is a member of DSA.
There was a write in candidate for the CD-2 seat in Maine.
Because his name was not on the ballot, the votes he received were only a tiny fraction of 1%, and actually much less than that.
Not a factor.
I voted for LePage.
When he was governor of Maine, elected in 2010 and 2014, he was probably the most conservative governor in the country.
