WATCH: Eiffel Tower Blazes "USA 250" as Paris Kicks Off America's Semiquincentennial

Tonight the Eiffel Tower is lighting up with a "USA 250" display beginning Friday, July 3rd at 11:00 PM local time, marking the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence.

The illumination shows "USA 250" in red, white, and blue lettering across the tower's first-level facade.

The lighting is part of a wider summer program organized by the City of Paris celebrating the historic friendship between France and the United States

Cheesy, underwhelming. Should have been down the entire length of the tower, top to bottom, we certainly paid for the space.

Nice.

but I think Paris is overrun with Muzzies now. Just a handful there many years ago when I went up into that tower. Impressive view.

” Should have been down the entire length of the tower, top to bottom,”

You mean it should have been made cheesy?

My way is best, as usual. And the whole tower should have been 1/3rd red, 1/3rd white and 1/3rd blue, top to bottom.

Some are commenting it should have been this or that.

Considering that some of our $#@! commie cities are not celebrating (it’s too hot), I’ll take it, French or not.

You sound like a leftist seeking an excuse to be offended.

We owe France a great deal.

The French gave a great deal for our Independence.

It can be said that Louis XVI gave his life for the Independence of the US.

He drained the treasury of France supporting the Revolutionary War.

Our war of independence directly lead to the French Revolution and Louis death and the death of 300,000 people.

Yes, we bailed out the French in two world wars but we would not exist to bail them out if they had not given us help before we were us.

Looks good.

Thank you France for your support in our revolution. We owe a lot to you and have been paying it back to you. The revolution could not have succeeded without it.

I don’t think a lot of people acknowledge the important role you played. They seem to think you did nothing.

We should also thank Spain too.
