FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Californians are facing growing uncertainty at the pump after the state’s last major oil shipment from the Strait of Hormuz arrived in Long Beach on Monday, as leaders warn the state has roughly four to six weeks of fuel supply left under normal conditions.

The shipment was the last to leave the Strait of Hormuz since Iran closed it in February, forcing state officials and refinery operators to find new sources of crude while also trying to keep up with converting it into gasoline to meet consumer demand.

Their refusal to allow development of vast oil Reserves or to permit new refineries is a threat to our national security.
The left is dangerously out of its mind.

I thought they all drove electric cars, so why would they need oil products?

“”” forcing state officials and refinery operators to find new sources of crude””””

It would be fitting for California to look at Russia for their future crude oil supply.

Communist Crude Oil for Communist Californians.

Trump started up a well off of Santa Barbara which has been closed for 11 years. AG Bonta immediately filed a lawsuit.

Reminds me of a story an angry taxi driver told me in Italy. The Italian government at the time refused to allow nuclear power plants, so they were built in Germany and charge the Italians a fortune for power.

The 70’s under Carter. So nostalgic. Gas shortages, blocks long gas lines, fistfights in the parking lot, soaring prices. Isn’t it all so wonderful to see it come back again?
I’m so proud of our governor.

The loss of jet fuel production is indeed a national security issue. It affects military fuel as well as domestic air lines. Stupid people voting to put stupid people in office are getting what they voted for.

The Germans shut down a bunch of theirs after Fukushima, didn’t they? And now buy a bunch of nuclear-generated electricity from the French, IIRC.

Letting Greens have power is a bad, bad idea.

Somebody needs to write a book on history of this “musical chairs” game with California’s depression of the oil and gas business that has meant nothing but money for the oil and gas business.

Call it, “Oiligopoly”

I marvel that the likes of Leon and Jimmy Panetta get away with running on a platform of opposing offshore drilling in the name of clean beaches when the oil used to ooze along the South Coast to the point that the rocks were black with it. The Chumash Indians used those tarry blobs to seal their fishing boats. Juan Cabrillo remarked upon its ubiquity. The drilling released the pressure forcing the oil to seep. Else the La Brea Tar Pits would still be there. There are still pump houses operating in the LA basin. Yet the BS continues to sell.

Don’t forget the many purchases of locking gas caps...

Its probably got more to do with refining capacity since their regulations forced one or two to close recently.

but drilling is a good idea too

I suppose it is possible. But California has to bid for oil just like anyone else who wants oil. There are a lot of places near Russia which will get Russian oil before California gets any. From the article:

“In a global shortage, every country is going to look inward first and then California is left bidding for what's left,”

EVs are still a drop in the bucket compared to ICE cars. There are ~30M ICE cars registered in CA and only ~2.6M EVs and PHEVs reregistered as of 1st quarter of 2026

I hate the high gas cost in California too. I’m not hopeful that these stupid people will change their voting habits.

If CA would vote for this, then why does Deep State have to steal CA’s elections?
