Justice Department moves to toss seditious conspiracy convictions of Oath Keepers and Proud Boys

The Justice Department on Tuesday asked a federal appeals court to throw out the seditious conspiracy convictions of Proud Boys and Oath Keepers leaders who were sentenced to prison terms for leading members of the far-right extremist groups in attacking the U.S. Capitol to keep President Donald Trump in the White House over five years ago.

Trump commuted the prison sentences of several Proud Boys and Oath Keepers leaders last January in a sweeping act of clemency for all 1,500-plus defendants charged in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack.

The request by the Justice Department would go a step further and erase the convictions for the extremist group leaders, including Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes.

In court filings, prosecutors asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to vacate the convictions so that the government can permanently dismiss the indictments.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

I'm glad to see the DOJ taking this step.

However, D.C. judges will not be happy with this filing. Even though the prison sentences were commuted, the convictions were still on their record and the judges were proud of the charges and convictions.

It would be nice if all those charged by Biden’s DOJ could sue the individuals who abused them. Time in prison & the legal costs have devastated so many. They should be able to punish those who did these things.

It would be good if they could be financially recompensed for their financial costs plus punitive damages. It was just one more plot by the Democrats activists against Trump supporters and those that knew about the stolen 2020 election.

The list of defendants include:

Oath Keepers Stewart Rhodes, Ken Harrelson, Kelly Meggs, Jessica Watkins, and Proud Boys Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs, Zachary Rehl and Dominic Pezzola.

And the reporting has to say that they are extremist groups which is not actually proven.

There is plenty of video of extreme violence from ANTIFA. Proud Boys and Oathkeepers? Not really anything other than media reporting on their alleged violent “extremism”.

And the reporting has to say that they are extremist groups which is not actually proven.

The Biden administration considered the following types of people "extremists" or "domestic terroritsts":

elderly people who prayed outside of abortion clinics,

practicing Catholics,

parents at school board meetings who objected to their children hearing pornography in the classroom or reading it in the school library,

parents at a Virginia school board meeting whose daughter was raped by a boy in a dress...
