The arrival of the B-52 Stratofortress over the Iranian battlespace on March 4, 2026, serves as a loud, eight-engine declaration of the current tactical reality. While the opening salvos of Operation Epic Fury relied on the “hidden” lethality of stealth, the sight of the non-stealth “BUFF” (Big Ugly Fat Fellow) suggests that the “door” to Iranian airspace hasn’t just been kicked in—it has been unhinged...

WION: “CENTCOM says B-2, B-1, B-52 unleash 24/7 strikes”
More MOPs please.
still wish the USA had 700 of em. One of the all time terrifying weapons systems ever built.
Is the new head guy a temporary hire?
This means there is little to no Iranian ground to air threat left in Iran. It ‘s now open season and the entire Iranian territory is the hunting ground.
BUFF was a nickname of an E-9 Chief of mine years ago. He owned it proudly, however the last word was not fellow, it did start with a F though. One of the best men I. Knew in the submarine ranks. Those planes are serious business, I wouldn’t want them or Bobby jumpin up and down on me. 😁
That’s not what BUFF stands for.
They got 3 of the letter right.
Hahahahaha
Arclight.
Yay!!!!!
Irans anti aircraft capabilities are destroyed.
Wide open now.
B-52’s used on the Iraqi Republican Guard were very effective in breaking their will. I hope Iran has Revolutionary Guards and Basij bases that the B-52s can arc light upon.
These bastards need their “will” severely broken. They are the ones who eagerly killed all those protestors.
John McCain LOVED singing that. He must be so happy today! Bolton too! And Bill Kristol, and Liz Cheney....
Major T. J. Kong please pick up the white courtesy phone.
John McCain, John Bolton, Bill Crystal and Liz Cheney have a lot more in common with Putin than Trump.
Trump isn’t a neocon.
Iran's Russian made, top-of-the-line anti aircraft capabilities are destroyed.
I was in the parking lot of a place next to the old El Toro MCAS in the 80’s. A cluster of three B-52s from either March or George AFB were coming in for a touch n’ go landing. That was enough “Shock and Awe” for me. Can’t even imagine them dropping their payload on my neigborhood . . . terrifying would be very accurate !
Iran is out of SAMs?
If so, they’re going to pay.
The article claims that MANPADS are a threat to B52s.
That’s news to me. I’m not aware of a man portable system that hits above 16,000 feet. B52s cruise at 50,000 feet.
They had:
Sevom Khordad (up to 30 batteries)
Khordad-15 (10–20 batteries)
Bavar-373 (2-4 batteries)
S-300 units (~4 batteries)
all of which could theoretically reach a B52 and are mobile.
I suspect we’ve accounted for all but the Sevom Khordad, which is the weakest of the bunch.
A full B52 package would have growlers, escorts, decoys, etc, however. Life expectancy of AAA crew would be short.
This say a lot about how thoroughly we have degraded Iran’s IADS. Good things.
