‘Happiest day of my entire life’: Venezuelan exile who warned U.S. students against socialism celebrates Maduro capture

Jorge Galicia, a Venezuelan exile who has spent the last five years touring U.S. college campuses warning young people about the dangers of socialism, said Saturday he is thrilled with the U.S. military action against his home country that led to the capture of dictator Nicolás Maduro.

“Today was probably the happiest day of my entire life,” Galicia told The College Fix in an email Saturday.

“God is finally giving us the opportunity to witness a measure of earthly justice through President Trump, his cabinet, and the courageous U.S. Armed Forces,” he said.

“As someone who was forced into exile due to political persecution, I have been waiting for something like this ever since I left Venezuela—and even for many years before that,” he said.

Galicia, 29, traveled to America in October 2018. He was a student political activists involved in liberty-minded campus groups in Venezuela, and came to the U.S. to take part in various academic-intellectual programs, including one coordinated by The Fund for American Studies titled “Venezuela: My Story … Your Future?”

His message to students centers on how socialism is at the root of all the oppression, turmoil and poverty in Venezuela — and how America is headed in the same direction. He advocates for private property rights and liberty and freedom.

Today, Galicia works as a field representative for Turning Point USA. He is also part of a public speaking network focused on high schools called Dissident Project.

On Jan. 3, the U.S. military conducted airstrikes on military targets in Venezuela, captured Maduro and his wife during a special forces raid in Caracas, then flew them to New York to face drug-trafficking charges related to a pending 2020 indictment of Maduro in the Southern District of New York.

“Trump does not need congressional approval for this type of operation. Presidents, including Democratic presidents, have launched lethal attacks regularly against individuals,” George Washington University law Professor Jonathan Turley wrote on his website. “… [Maduro] is not viewed as the duly elected leader of Venezuela and has been tied to a criminal drug cartel.”

Galicia told The Fix “the fight is far from over.”

“Although Maduro is gone, I believe the regime is capable of surviving without him. I also find it difficult to imagine someone like Delcy Rodríguez (Maduro’s illegitimate vice president) genuinely cooperating with U.S. authorities to prevent further hostilities,” he said.

“I pray that I am wrong, of course, but my assumption is that additional military action may be necessary to secure real and lasting freedom in Venezuela,” he told The Fix.

Even prior to Saturday’s actions, Galicia has posted on social media in support of President Trump’s crackdown on the South American country.

In mid-November, when the U.S. government designated Cartel of the Suns, a Venezuelan drug-trafficking organization comprised of high-ranking Venezuelan officials, as a terrorist organization, Galicia supported the escalation.

“A terrorist network expelled me and millions of others from our homeland while enabling foreign adversaries like China, Russia, and Iran to gain a strategic foothold to undermine American interests in our Western Hemisphere,” he wrote at the time on Instagram.

“By helping Venezuelans reclaim our country and end this atrocious regime, the U.S. would also be helping itself—cutting off a key hub for drug smuggling in the Americas and gaining a regional ally with enormous resources that could be used to strengthen our entire continent.”

Our lunatic dems will never learn. They are filled with hatred and their obsession for damning Pres. Trump. No matter what he does, they hate him because he is successful and they are not.
While they are dancing in the streets with joy in Caracas and other cities in Venezuela our lunatic libtards are protesting in our cities. Perhaps they like the fact that thousands of American citizens die from drugs each year, and maybe they like an oppressed country in South America. Fools, all of them.

Maduro is only one head of the narco terrorist socialist hydra that controls Venezuela. If this action is going to do some real long term good, then that evil woman posing as Vice President , the generals, colonels and “civilian” infrastructure must be thoroughly eliminated.
